Aaron Brady has been found guilty of the capital murder of Det Garda Adrian Donohoe in Louth in 2013.

On Monday, Brady, of New Road, Crossmaglen, Co Armagh, was found guilty of robbing approximately €7,000 in cash and cheques outside the Lordship Credit Union in January 2013.

RIP and condolences to the Det Gda's family.

Had a good feeling that once they convicted him of the robbery and therefore acknowledged he was present, this verdict will follow.

Sounded like an absolute turd of society during the trial. Scum.

When your alibi is that you were off laundering diesel...

Delighted to see this guy go down for the murder of the Garda.

    Good enough for him.

Is there a difference in mandatory life terms for murder and capital murder?

its a shame capital murder doesn't carry a capital sentence,

dirty rodents head on the bastard

Fantastic news for his family, the Gardai, the state and all of us to be fair.

This seemed to be a hard one to nail him down as he fled the state and even though many knew he was the chief suspects.

Huge congrats and thanks to all those on the prosecution.

Hope he never enjoys freedom again

Well it used to be the case if you killed a Guard. Personally, I think the murder of an officer of the law, or any front line first responder that gets killed in the line of duty, should come with an automatic 'life without the possibility of parole' sentence.

That woulds send the strong message that attacking those who put themselves in harms way to protect the public is a very bad idea.

Wasn’t really following the details of the case, had the actually got any evidence on this guy?

Seemed like a very nasty manipulative piece of work from reading the court reports.

I was wondering how in God's name someone like that had the gall to go off and start a family after it. And him boasting about it in the states.

Well he went over to Woodlawn in New York hiding after it and told everyone over there he did it when he used to get drunk. Sounded like a scumbag his father went over to celebrate his birthday one year and pulled a gun on a fella in a pub so scumbag family.
Wonder will Tony McEntee write him another Character reference

Must have had something if he's been convicted.

His main line of defence was "couldn't have been me, I was off washing diesel" Scumbag.

I hope this brings a bit of solace to Detective Garda Donohoe's family.

Wouldn't be surprised his father was chairman of the club at the time

Is stating something while drunk in a pub drunk considered sufficient evidence for capital murder, or was there any actual evidence?

It would put a serious taint on probably the most successful club in the history of the GAA if true...

Great that Trump, the FBI, ICE and homeland security assisted an Garda siochana in this one.

The United States does not hide cop killers.

May the bastard rot in jail.

    RIP an Garda .

Yes, that’s usually how this works, gather information and question it as you go along, you got a problem with that?

Correct, and as per your own definition here - usually one would look at some information prior to questioning it - you are questioning the validity of evidence before you even know what it is

I don't got a problem with that but you are literally going against your own logic. :pac:

Followed bits of this case and it looks like a very safe and welcome conviction. Some small justice for his senseless killing.
Well done to the Gardai work that secured this conviction.

Hardly makes him guilty talking crap in a pub, like i said earlier, if he's really guilty then well done.

    this is pretty sickening tbh

you are aware there is evidence other than hearsay but still choose to try to undermine the justice system

one would wonder why and what the agenda here is

I take it your from the country so I’ll help you out with some context, I was conversing with another poster who gave me one piece of information which I questioned. I usually try my best to avoid people like you who arrive on a thread with a conclusion, good luck.

So why not then add the other evidence here on the forum, it can then be discussed, instead of taking it personally, that’s usually how this works.
