I agree! But I can see where this comes from. There's an owner near me who drives a white e-Niro. He's put black vinyl on the grille area to make it look like an ordinary Kia.

But sure, we saw it here with people putting black vinyl on the nose of the Ioniq classic in the early days.

Well the grey/silver grill on the Ioniq did look terrible. The colour combo just didn't work.

that grill is just horrible on the Enyak, I believe Skoda said it was to ease the transition from Ice to EV easier for People by making it more traditional looking, WTF ? lol the bloody grill is hideous!

The grille across the board on the Skoda range is terrible. It could be worse, it could have the Rathkeale special light up grille which is even more hideous.

Certainly on our black Ioniq it was the exact opposite reason, I wanted ours to be body coloured which made the car much more sleek. I wonder what an enyaq would look like with body coloured vinyl instead of that monobrow?

I saw a red one on the road on Saturday on N7 inbound to Dublin. It's a big enough car! quite surprising

Are they delivering the cars to customers already?

    Hi Folks,

Has anyone here ordered an Enyaq?

Went around on Saturday with the Mrs to test drive a few cars as we are looking to change her Discovery Sport,

Test drove the ID4 first which was lovely but the dealership had the new enyaq also so we had a look at that too,

We felt the Enyaq was a bit bigger inside and would be better for 3 kids,

Mrs preferred the look of the enyaq and the interior as it was more like a normal car, we both felt the ID4 was a bit fiddly but I'm sure you get used to it in a few minutes.

So has anyone got any info on what the lead time is? Dealer said no problem getting stock but wouldn't actually say how long that was!

Would be looking at the 60 Standard Spec with probably tinted windows and the nicer wheels but i'd say thats it

    Cheers

    R

So much for that "limited stock" "ever car has a pre booking deposit down" marking craic they were banging out a few months ago.

Hard to know for sure, spoke to another dealer this morning and he said all they had to sell was the few demo models they were getting in, said it would be November if we wanted to order one ourselves.

I suspect he was just pushing us towards the demo stock he had with the €5k worth of extras that we don't need..

What price were his demo IV60 & IV80?

Are the demos full price? Will you qualify for the car grants etc?

No idea yet they are to come back to Mrs in the next few days,
She has just managed to sell her own car today

Has anyone got any good deals for a straight purchase without trade in?

Has anyone who registered for a test drive had one yet?

Since when do you have to register?

Mrs just visited 3 different dealers and was offered a test drive every time without any appointment

You don’t have to in the normal scheme of things but Skoda Ireland recently sent an email to anyone who had previously registered an interest, inviting them to request a test drive.

I’m not in a hurry to test drive/buy but just curious about the process.

I had a test drive today in a IV60 & was very impressed overall.
Will take an ID4 out next week to compare.
Only downside for me is the car feels very big on the road and that is coming from a Seat Ateca.

Wow looks lovely, the grey is really nice and that car has a lot of options ticked!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,594 ✭✭✭traco

These look very interesting - are there any finance deals on them? the 60 would be adequate for our needs I think. Did a quick run through the configrator and came in at 48k. Not entirely sure what that gets as I didn't have time to really dig into the packs. Don't think it has leather as it was the lofgt interior.

    Config:
metallic, loft interior (whatever that is??), Driver assist plus, drive soprt pack and Infotainment pack, 100kW Charging, 3 yr warranty
    47k

  • Registered Users Posts: 21,483 ✭✭✭✭ELM327

That's a lovely looking car, but I'd want to have the 80 spec with a few extras (including such extras as 100kW charging) and i fear that might push it over the 60k where you get the grant

  • Registered Users Posts: 451 ✭✭robbie_63

Depends on your requirements I guess, we went for the 60 as you should get around 200-250 miles which is plenty for us

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,594 ✭✭✭traco

If it was me it would be the 80 but for herseld the 60 would be fine. I see they are offereing 4.9% APR on PCP

I'd also want AWD. To be honest this piqued my interest but I think it's too expensive for what it is.
The 60 is better value but not enough range IMO

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,594 ✭✭✭traco

This is the problem - once you start ticking a few options it gets a bit out of hand.

That's around 3500 to 5000 on the price for the first 3 years.

With options an expensive car. Price between 60 and 80 version is too much.

It's great business sense. High demand equals high prices and bloated extras. But this car is pushing well ahead of it's vw equivalent which is quite a turn for the skoda brand.

We've been through this in the thread I specd out an 80 with some choice extras and it came in circa 54/55. Its quite the equivalent to similar spec ID4. I'm not sure where people are getting these wild price difference claims from ?..

  • Registered Users Posts: 21,483 ✭✭✭✭ELM327

    Mine was 60+
Guess we want different options. I chose paint and wheels and interior too.

Minus 5k grant puts it around 55,56. I don't see the major differences here tbh. Yes if people are just clicking everything. Even doing that they've going above the ID spec because there seems to be huge amount of add on extras. I'm still not seeing the major price difference to comparible spec ID 4.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,108 ✭✭✭innrain

There is no grant for 60+. When I was looking for a car I configured the 80 with only what I have on Kona 2019 which is paddy specced. 57k with basic interior plus 2k delivery. I gave up because wanted to upgrade tech not to get a bigger Kona

The price difference is the lack of difference. Skoda used to be a more affordable option for people who couldn't afford vw. Not any more.

Anyone know what the AC charging speed of the Skoda Enyaq 80 is?
