Same here. I'm also going with the scam conspiracy theory.

Finally spotted the free butter biscuits in a different aisle, threw them in and outside and left. Checked my receipt and seen that I was charged, went back the next time and she says they were the gluten free I bought , it's in very faint writing but the packets look the same.

I asked "so where are the free buiscuits" and she says they're not in stock.

Then I asks where are the free pistachios... Not in stock.

Then I asks where are those free Arctic chocolate biscuits... Not in stock.

Free Cranberry juice... Not in stock.

There's tones of "discounted" Apple cider vinegar though if anyone is thirsty. Apparently 'Doctors hate this new Apple Cider cure that everyone is raving about'.

Ya... No more 50c off , just pictures of free items that aren't there.

    People need to move on.

It’s often a sub €1 item that you wouldn’t pick up normally.

Not the end of the world.

Maybe LIDL need to move on and provide loyalty bonus that can actually be claimed ... or else people will move on alright, and shop elsewhere.

No one is claiming this is end of the world. Something lidl can easily fix it by replacing item which is not available by the one which is available or just provide 50c off or don't give any scratch card until supply chain issue is resolved.

I get your point buy would a **** loyalty programme really make you shop elsewhere? If you like the store, products and prices in general?

A first world problem for sure but its still frustrating to be offered something and then its not there. And its not like Lidl dont have the data from the app to know how much stock is required to match what they are offering. In my experience if Im in there past 7pm its almost certain the freebie will be out of stock. I dont lose any sleep over it but I do recognise that they are putting out an offer that they know well they dont have stocks to match.

Why are they running a loyalty programme then? I shop in different shops, one of the pull factors being special offers. At the moment, I would not go to LIDL because of a LIDL plus offer as there's about 75% chance it won't be available. It's not a pull factor.

So it's not a pull factor to people who vary their shops. It might be a bonus for people who are there regardless... but if they are there regardless. Why bother LIDL?

Indeed. You see people saying they are travelling to multiple stores for a sub €1 freebie... Far too much time on their hands!

I love when fabric conditioner goes half prices, it’s usually a €2.50 Saving for me because I use it all the time. It doesn’t bother me if the little freebies aren’t there, if they are it’s a bonus.

Anyone manage to get the pistachios anywhere?

No pistachios, cuppa soups or cola jelllies in any store near me

you fellows need to move to Donegal, having said that i missed my first scratchcard freebie this week unable to get arctic bars or cranberry juice because i left it too late.

If you know your not going to be in Lidl for a while then don't scratch your freebies for a few days. When you scratch, the expiry time resets and you get a few more days to redeem them. I think my personal record was 5 freebies in one go doing this. 🤣😂

The below is a general 'signature' and not part of any post:

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

I was in Lidl Coolock earlier and I got the cola jellies. I think there were a few packets of the pistachios too but I didn't check the product code for them so I can't say for sure if they were the ones on the freebie. Still no Arctic bars or Cranberry Juice and even though my butter cookie freebie expired I checked to see if they were back in stock and they weren't. It's very unusual for so many items on the scratch cards to be unavailable for this length of time but I think there are stock issues generally. Today's freebie was Cotton Wool Pads or a box of Cuppa Soups.

The cookies were back in my local shop today but my code had expired :(

Got the pistachios in Lidl in Terenure - they weren't in the 'LIdl plus' section along with the other discounted items, they were with the other nuts etc.

Got the caramel bars in Ranelagh - again they weren't with other Lidl plus items but beside the Lidl Mars type bars etc

Wasn't able to get Artic Bars

    First scratch card:

Whole Hazelnut Milk Chocolate In-store price: 99c 100g

    Or

    Sweet Strawberries ( sweets jellies ) In-store price: €1.49 300g

Don't misinterpret. Personally I am in the vicinity of 2 or 3 lidls every week. It's hardly an effort to call in. I doubt I'm the only one.

None of them have the pistachios from the offer (only a different more expensive and obv not free one) but all have half price Christmas chocolate 😄

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 539 ✭✭✭Cookiee

Tinned salmon added to the tin tuna voucher, and 'neos' (oresos basically) added to the breakfast biscuit voucher

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 961 ✭✭✭crayon80

I've got a scratch card on a Thursday morning and the product has been out of stock already. They do restock so it's more down to the product being out of stock generally than gone because of a plethora of scratch card prizes being picked up.

On the other hand I finally got pistachios today with a week+ old scratch card 🍾

Lidl have a surprisingly good offer on branded products at the moment -Mix 'n' Match 5 for 5€ - https://www.lidl.ie/leaflet/thur-20th-wed-26th-january-2022-ie/view/flyer/page/4

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,286 ✭✭✭✭zell12

The leaflet shows stuff that is not on website like Aromat. Promotion really highlights the vast price difference between branded and own brand products

Front page of leaflet show Hunky Dorys etc 5 for €5 - Not in the leaflet itself. In the stores??
