I gave up on Eir as Wifi calling kept dropping for me.
When it worked it was great .... but would always drop after a couple of mins.

On GoMo now ... whilst it can be enabled in the settings. When I try it says "Contact Eir" :)

Yeah i was on GoMo and left them for that reason!

Anyway I’m happy to report that it’s working much better now so it must have been an iOS bug with it rather than an Eir issue.

Here’s a weird one. Since updating my iPad I can’t see or write reviews on Amazon.

I write a lot of book reviews there so it’s a bit of a pain. I’ve checked on my Android phone and it’s not affected, either in the app or browser.

Tried both Safari and Chrome on iPad but both the same.

    Very strange.

Can anyone else who has an iPad with iOS 14 go onto Amazon and see if they can see product reviews? I can see the ratings for a product but can’t get to the reviews no matter what I do.

I write the majority of my reviews on iPad so it’s a pita that I now can’t do it.

Hey adox, I've an Air 2 running iOS 14 and had a look there. I can see reviews on Amazon in Safari, both as a guest and logged in. Also as a guest on Chrome, didn't bother logging in. Reminds me that I wrote this review of James Patterson's pap a few years ago.

I can see them. You don’t have a Ad blocker which might be hiding them by any chance?

That’s the perfect James Patterson review I must say.

Just need to nail him on his co writer credits now.

I have an ad blocker running that was never an issue before. I switched it off last night but didnt make any difference. I didnt re-boot the iPad when I made the change so will try that tonight. Obviously a local issue for me going by other replies.

Cheers for that. At least I know its an issue my end.

Anyone else having to put in their password far more often instead of it just using Face ID when trying to download an app?

I have a tp-link NC220 camera that uses the tpCamera app. Since upgrading to ios14 I am having connection problems.

Camera is on the 2.4ghz ssid from my router. iPhone 8 is on 5ghz. When I’m on the WiFi the camera shows as online but the picture won’t load.

It is working ok on an old iPad running ios12 and on a Samsung galaxy s10.

It also works fine on my iPhone 8 on mobile data and other WiFi just not my own.

Don’t suppose anyone else has similar issue?

No luck unfortunately. Deleted the ad blocker. Rebooted the iPad. Cleared all browsing data etc but still the same. Tried Chrome as well as Safari and even the Amazon app!

I’m stumped as to what is going on.

That's very strange alright. How about asking Amazon support? Or does your OH have an Amazon account that she could check on the device and see if it's also not working for her?

I tried Amazon support first before realising it worked on my Android phone. They weren’t any help. They just told me to send kindle reviews direct from the kindle!

Anyway I’ve found a workaround after clicking the link on your review, which shows up for me. If I click “see all reviews” it just reverts back to the same page. If I click on “ 5 star reviews “ or any starred rating group it brings them up, and then also gives me an option to write a review.

When I’m on a product or book, I’d usually scroll down the page to see the reviews at the bottom but there is none there. It’s bizarre but at least I can still write reviews on my iPad(albeit with a very long winded route to get there)

Anyway thanks for the suggestions and hope I haven’t taken this OT too far as it doesn’t seem to be an iOS 14 issue for others. I’m convinced it is though for me as it literally changed after the update.

Tp-link support came back to me on this. It is an issue to be resolved in future firmware. The workaround is to disable local network in iPhone settings > tpCamera

Anyone seeing iMessage crash using the "reply" function? I'm on standard iOS 14 on Xs Max.

    Any one notice

“Pasted from messenger “ when they open apps? And the amount of times I have to accept terms and conditions is crazy

That's app monitoring your clipboard. It's a privacy (invasion) notification. RTE news was doing it and I contacted them about it.. Their DPO emailed me back and they investigated it and fixed the "bug" :D

    They're all very "buggy" :D

In fairness to RTE they gave a half believable response... but still.. not need for a news app that has no text input (a need to be copy/pasting) in to the app.

Can anybody tell me how to stop the “x copied from x app” message appearing on the top of my screen when I have something in the clipboard?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,467 ✭✭✭Ivefoundgod

Not sure if you can unless you turn off some of the privacy tracking settings somewhere. Out of curiousity why would you want to turn that off? I'm on the beta since a good few weeks back and never noticed it appearing so often as to be an irritant. For me some of the best features Apple have introduced over the last few years have been those privacy features, Safari 14 on Catalina is particularly impressive.

I would take it that if you are seeing that too often then i'd be looking at the app and potentially deleting it. Some apps have well intentioned reasons for grabbing stuff from the clipboard but many others likely don't. But as I said I haven't seen it all that often and where I have seen it the app would have a genuine reason for needing it.

You could be into data revovery then. And it can be expensive, so it all comes down to what the data/photos are worth to you.

Check out this link - Data Recovery

Sorry, just wondering what you mean by "Standard iOS 14"?

AFAIK there's no other version of iOS outside of Beta programmes.

I presume they mean the public release version (14.0.1) rather than a beta version (14.2).

I can't connect to my Sonos, or my Philips Hue since the upgrade. Local Network Access is enabled for both... Quite frustrating...

Have you tried toggling the LAN access off and on again? And a restart of the iPhone after you’ve done that. Might be that the apps need to be updated to properly support accessing the new LAN access API.
