Roxette ; they've got The Look

Rick Astley ; he's never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down, never gonna run around and desert you, never gonna make you cry, never gonna say goodbye, never gonna tell a lie and hurt you

Hugh Masekela vs GG Allin ; abstain, as never heard of either of them

Nina Simone ; Feelin' Good, Sinnerman, 'nuff said

Had a quick listen to both, and I'm gonna give Hugh Masekela my vote for this one, although I did like the GG Allin song I listened to as well in fairness

    Guns N' Roses

    Godley & Creme

    Steve Earle

    Judas Priest

Not really bothered going in to reasons for this bunch - just better than who they're up against

Bros - gotta give it to the Peckham Boys. Even though, back in the day, I pretended to not like them when my schoolmates would be hanging outside their house screaming, I did really like them and would head to the kings road just to buy expensive second hand 501s from the same shop they did.
Neil Young - wouldn’t see him as an 80s act but love him.
Steve Earle - love him too
Marquis De Sade - brilliant and perfect 80s

Bros vs Guns'N'Roses [both iconic but gnr had better tunes]

Neil Young vs Godley & Creme [mr young released some of his most interesting and innovative stuff during the 80s]

Steve Earle vs Paul McCartney [steve takes paul down to guitar town]

Judas Priest vs Marquis De Sade [british steel is a rocking good album]

Missed the start of this, so just going to jump in here (hope that's ok??) and pick up on the final few matches:

    Tom Waits vs Europe
    Def Leppard vs Van Halen
Huey Lewis and the News vs Scratch Acid
    Heart vs Rod Stewart
Echo & The Bunnymen vs Cher
The Replacements vs Black Flag (Very underrated band)
A Flock of Seagulls vs The Travelling Wilburys (would have been interesting to see where this led if they had been able to continue)
Peter Gabriel vs Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds (If this was any decade since the 80's, there would be a very different answer!)
Bob Seger vs Roxette (Lesser of two evils!)
Rick Astley vs The Rolling Stones
    Hugh Masekela vs GG Allin
    Nina Simone vs Chris Rea
    Bros vs Guns'N'Roses
Neil Young vs Godley & Crème (Not a vintage decade for Neil, but still better than that other lot!)
Steve Earle vs Paul McCartney (McCartney just released one load of rubbish after another in this decade)
Judas Priest vs Marquis De Sade

Bros are the stars of the Best Comedy Movie of 2018, "After The Screaming Stops". Even the creators of Spinal Tap and Monty Python admitted they couldn't write anything funnier!
