Some big names with some big hits in here like Billy Idol, Belinda Carlisle, and Kim Carnes, but Foreigner have quite a few songs that immediately spring to mind when you think of the '80s

I'm afraid so, these are all wild card acts, nobody nominated them.

Please note, I made a mistake with the inclusion of The Human League, they have been removed from match 2.

I left out Billy Idol thinking loads would choose him. Thank god someone else chose it.

But The pretenders as a wild card makes me sad too

Reason for Queen - A potential winner, phenomenal act led by one of the best frontmen of all time.

Depeche Mode ; one of my nominations. Big Depeche Mode fan

Queen ; prefer their '70s stuff, but will do for now

Eurythmics ; just missed out on a spot in my own nomination

L7 - as much as I love love love Stevie Wonder. L7 has a real 80s feel.
Simply Red - Once again, I love em both but I nominated Simply Red. They’re brilliant.

Eurythmics - argh another tough choice but culture club up against a VERY BIG hitter.

Lloyd Cole and the Commotions - probably fighting a losing battle in this one, but sticking with my nomination. Rattlesnakes is still one of my all time favourite albums.

Eurythmics - wasn't a big fan of either, but Eurythmics had some decent songs
