Yeah, people say that – and I'm sure airlines have survey data that says it too.

However, this data is and can only ever be a best guess, given that nothing other than economy has been offered on short haul out of Ireland in a meaningful way for as long as I can remember.

If it hasn't been tried, then we don't really know.

I develop Superior Solitaire when I'm not procrastinating on boards.ie.

Most business travel is now explicitly economy class only, only the very senior or over 6 hours gets you anywhere near a better seat. Business travel is what keeps the airlines alive in the lean months like November and January when no one is travelling.

Aer Lingus knows how weak demand is for its fake business offering on UK/EU flights.

EIs short haul business class was quite good back in the day, and used to stretch three quarters of the way down the aircraft when heading to London on a Monday morning.

Any rumblings of new transatlantic route announcements for EI for 2026 yet? I think this time last year the grapevine had already established Nashville and Indianapolis were going to launch for 2025.

I think Montreal has been mentioned on here quite recently as been under consideration

Last year's speculation might give you the answer for next year.

would EI move into Canada more and maybe serve cities like Winnipeg or Ottawa as well as Montreal which was previously mentioned. (Please note i am unsure if there is sustainable demand to these cities)
