Seems to be a recurring theme, you could say the writers ran out of steam on complex characters like Varys, Littlefinger and even Tyrion to an extent towards the end. Littlefinger and particularly Varys had poor enough demises in contrast to the background of the characters. Bronn was very good but sunk into the background due to the rushed nature of it all.

I'm still hoping he features more extensively in the books

I thought Bronn was quite weak after they had the whole Dorne escapades and they made him beg for his life from a bit-part character.

They ran out of episodes to fan out the characters development Varys still going strong in the books he's didn't go with Tyrion I don't see Arya killing Littlefinger in the books like she did as Sansa isn't sold off to the Boltons I really don't see Tyrion being hand of the queen neither he may end up advising her but the show runners butchered the story and spent way too much time on romantic nonsense and killing vital characters for ratings.

Jaime Lannister - A better character arc. We first saw him pushing a child out of a window while riding his sister but he actually turned out to be one of the more decent humans in the show. Certainly a flawed character.

Jaime. Real interesting road to redemption story. Went from been totally unlikeable to feeling sorry for him towards the end. Still deserved to die though.

Arya. The best heroine of the story (aside from the ****ty ending bit). Likeable, and we saw her develop as a character.I know Jamie developed too, but we never quite forgave him for being an arsehole. Arya was noble and all adventure and action.

Jaime for me, he was a complex character and I felt Aryas story arc ebbed away.

I'm gonna go for Jaime, one of the genuinely best characters in the show.

Arya was cool, but her association with The Waif and the absolute damp squib which became the Night King will forever taint her in my viewing of the show.

Jaime, both had ****e elements to them Aryas waif stuff and Jaime running back to Cersei.
