I'd say she was told by the WWE that they would announce her release at X time and she beat them to it with her own Tweet.

It was a lovely well timed piece of sh1thousery hats off to her.

Has Black even been on TV since the draft? He's Smackdown now, isn't he?

Reports today that he had asked to be sent back to NXT and they refused not sure of the timeline behind that.

WWE says they fired Zelina Vega because she breached her contract

Breach of contract is certainly a minefield of a phrase in professional wrestling. Sports Illustrated are a bit hack like these days I believe as well.

It seems Twitch wasn't the issue but Onlyfans was apparently a breach of contract...

Their stance on Twitch is absurd but Onlyfans is a porn site in all but name so I can understand from WWE's PG image standpoint how they feel they might have to act.

Looks like she went against their new policy and they made an example out of her.

NXT doesnt need him. WWE is beyond full in terms of talent due to their hording. AEW too.

He hasnt been used well at all since his feud with Murphy. Typical WWE mid card booking. Made look like a dweeb in the Rollins Mysterio feud.

Twitch isn't an issue if you're willing to share your account with them and receive a fraction of the profits. So I'm sure Twitch played a big role in this too, and they'll put only fans in the headlines to try divert some attention away from Twitch.

Well she used Onlyfans to go around the Twitch ban.

Either way she refused to give up streaming, they showed her the door.

Just throwing it out there that I mentioned OnlyFans awhile ago in making Vince potentially lose his sh1t. :0

  • Registered Users Posts: 60,367 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Dave reporting that WWE's director of talent relations told Vega she was fired and when she asked to speak to Vince about he told her no Vince doesn't want to speak to you and he then escorted her off the premises.

They really are pieces of sh1t.

So much for Vince having an open door policy that all talent can go talk to him.

How they can still get away with having independent contractors who are not independent is still beyond me. Give them employee rights and proper medical cover ffs.

Oh Vince does have an open door policy alright, but it's for select talent only, of which Zelina wasn't an exclusive member of said club.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,164 ✭✭✭The White Wolf

I know Vince has the control over creative but can he actually make such complex legal calls on his own? There's a board of directors there surely they have a big say in what happens.

Well you’d think he’d remove himself from those calls. I’d think any corporate decisions that reach his desk would be of an importance(not that firing talent isn’t important) of a certain level. I mean JR has said on his podcast that during his time as head of talent relations he was given a wide remit to deal with this issues.

Come on now lads. I think we all know Vince is a dickhead :p

Vince is a dickhead but as bad as Vince is he’s not even top five in the history of dickhead promoters or individuals in wrestling which isn’t meant as a compliment given how bad some people have been. I will say it again and I’ve said it before that yes the world class and the von Erichs were huge in their time, but Fritz von Erich is IMO the biggest scumbag ever in wrestling for one very awful moment where he made his very ill son do a press conference. I’ve seen it a few times and it’s still awful. So **** Fritz.

    Charlotte won't walk.

I wouldn't be shocked if she made it clear denying him his release would cause her to consider her own long term prospects too, and they realized he wasn't worth that to them. Maybe a non-compete with AEW for a while too.

He's always been someone I thought could have been pretty big, but his biggest weaknesses (namely, his need to have a manager as a mouthpiece) is something WWE continually will work to highlight, rather than hide. Be interested to see where he ends up and how he does.

  • Registered Users Posts: 28,856 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

The usual non-compete clause is 90 days, right?

Now will Aleister Black try to leave?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,164 ✭✭✭The White Wolf

Interesting times for WWE. I wonder if signing the likes of Taya Valkyrie and LA Knight represents a shift on how they sign depth to the roster; by no means journeymen or women but ones who are old enough and experienced enough to play ball with changing plans, as long as they have a solid pay cheque coming in.

The roster is so uneven so maybe if there is a shift in how they sign depth to the ranks, it will make it easier to negotiate with exciting up and comers.

You know it just crossed my mind, La Sombra probably did better being off TV than he would've done on it. He got a big NXT run that enhanced his reputation in America, he had a real good feud with Mysterio on main roster WWE and that's it. Those are the only things you think of when you think of what he did in that company.

In comparison, you take a guy like Akira Tozawa. Tozawa is, and I swear this, one of the best workers of the last 10 - 12 years, like just an insanely talented guy. But because he's on WWE TV each week being one of the 24/7 geeks, if for some reason he left WWE tomorrow or was released, I don't think he'd get a spot in AEW because then you'd be hiring and pushing a joke WWE guy and right now that's not a good look. So ironically by being off TV, La Sombra has probably better options than a guy like Tozawa whose on every week.

Well Charlotte was removed from the recent wrestlemania poster... Unlikely she leaves but is an odd thing to do

  • Registered Users Posts: 60,367 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Well with RAW tonight we might have some idea if Charlotte is going to challenge Asuka for the title or will Rhea be rushed into the title match at WM on her RAW debut tonight.

Calling it now Andrade, Aleister & Vega to debut at Double or Nothing.

Charlotte is a 12/13/14 time women's champion (Who is even counting at this point?), part of the 4HW and she's Ric's daughter.

She has the status for a power play like downing tools until WWE played ball with Andrade and they caved. She'll be back soon enough.
