You do realise it's not a choice right? People can be critical of the Chinese government AND Trump, being critical of one does not equate to support for the other.

There is a great joke in the tv show community
2 characters after discussing the importance of the book 1984, suggest all school children should be forced to read it

That is the level of posting on here, trump is evil no matter what he does and the enemy of my enemy is my friend

I have read posters here support authoritarian china, rapist bill clinton, race baiter Obama and a woman who should be in jail for treason Hillary Clinton

But worse of all many posters here support a killer virus over trump
What the hell is going with ye?

Could you explain Hilary Clinton's treason please?

Resorting to name calling and defamation...your hero Trump would be proud. You call Bill Clinton a rapist yet as far as I remember he had less misconduct accusations against him than Trump.

Do you need help understanding the fact that the virus originated in China but is not Chinese?

Was Clinton ever convicted of rape?

Or is an accusation enough because if that's enough to convict in your eyes then i have some bad news for you in relation to your beloved Donald.

Is the "killer virus" running for president now? Your posts are an absolute joke. You just say the same stuff over and over and over and ignore everything else. I don't think I've ever met anyone like this in real life.

    Good for a laugh though.

Can you explain how placing the state before the individual is 'racist'?

I myself have been praising China's response to the pandemic on the China thread for weeks.

I was specifically talking about allowing political dissent(Which is where I picked up the conversation)
The same Chinese that think nothing of massacring its own citizens, social scores, media censorship, work camps etc.
Xi Jinping making himself leader for life.
People need to remember which side they are on

This opinion was called 'narrow minded' by another poster. What's narrow minded is not supporting the kind of country that would fight to the death for the ideals that we enjoy. Liberal ideals.

Reading over the Hong Kong and the China thread leads me to believe that many in fact would prefer to live in mainland China.

Free thinking is alive and well.
If you want the opposite, just look at footage of a few of Trump Rally's to see examples of mass propaganda and manipulation of the masses.
Those people were have been convinced that a billionaire Playboy is somehow a god fearing man of the people.
    A con of epic proportions.

The opposite of free thinking isn't Trump in the U.S. he's probably going to be entering his second term this year. He was elected precisely because he is more free-thinking than the rest of them.

Xi just made himself leader for life.

Also Putin recently cancelled some elections; I wonder what he will do when his term is finally up? Oh actually he's going to extend it again.

If you could show us anything positive that he has done then we are more than happy to discuss it. This continual claim that everyone is out to get him, whilst not putting up anything more than "China is worse, Biden is crazy" is tiresome.

Blueshoe is bemoaning that people seemed to have forgotten all the good things the US does, but has given little in the way of any explanation of why that is, save for simply blaming people for being ungrateful.

The floor is yours. After 3+ years why do you think Trump is so great?

    Already discussed on here.
Many great policies but you will not acknowledge even one
Funny things with cults is that it’s the most intelligent liberal people who fall into them.

Russia, China, and North Korea are all repressive regimes/dictatorships.
Is that the measure by which we are now expected to Judge the American government.
Of course America is better than those countries in terms of individual freedom but they are not the benchmark.
America under Trump has regressed in world standing as a powerful western democracy.
Doing better than Russia or China should be no consolation.

No, lets go over this again. No policies. Some ideas, which I acknowledged, but no policies. THe best you could come up with is the defunding of a NFP organisation that you don't happen to like.

But yet again, instead of actually being able to answer, you are back to the woe is me, nobody will listen to me.

Should be easy enough to post a few of his policies that he has intigated.

Education maybe, minorities, workers right, infrastructure. Since he couldn't even manage to get his two main ideas through, that of building the wall and Repeal and Replace and I little hope that he actually got any other policies through.

It's interesting how countries can be perceived in terms of democracy and the protection of liberal ideas. What do you think of a country where armed and masked militia invade the seat of government and nobody is stopped, nobody is challenged, nobody is disarmed and nobody is arrested?

Trump had plenty of time to pursue his line of locking Clinton up so y'know, there was no actual case to do so. So you're not the most free thinking if you're espousing that line.

In addition, I don't believe anyone is 'supporting the virus', I'd frankly have been much happier if he had handled it correctly. Instead he handled it atrociously from day one. Now he's pushing for places of worship to open, that's incredibly irresponsible. I say this as a person with relatives in the US that have been in isolation and are high risk.

Btw, care to show the support for the virus?

I've been to China - a wonderful country with wonderful people. Is it perfect? Absolutely not. But neither is it this horrible totalitarian hellhole some ignorant people say it is. The reality is that government interference in every day life there isn't as intrusive or as brutal as it's made out to be by the type of western propaganda you spout. You talk about political dissent which has been largely criminalised in the US. The standard response to a political protest there is a massive show of force - unless you're armed Trump supporters outside a State House of course. This idea about America being some sort of model or promoter of liberal ideals is laughable.

I'd love to know why she thinks the Republican president is getting tested for something the Democrats made up and who or what she thinks is murdering all the people.

What have the reasons they got involved got to do with it? The Americans didnt ride in and single handidly win the war anymore than a certain section of the British public think Britain did.

Also, watching your supposed western allies getting killed from afar until the Japanese had gall the to attack your own soil is hardly the virtuous hero thing to do. How many of us will be dead before they decide to help if the Chinese or Russians attack us?

Obviously it is a very small sample, but it certainly appears that there is a a growing chasm growing in the US.

Some people seem to believe that freedom is a one way street, and their 'freedom' comes above everything and everyone else.

But a country needs to have something in common to keep it together. Something that gives everyone, despite all the differences, a sense of togetherness.

Trump seems to have tapped into the fact that they no longer have that and so the best way to bring people together shown throughout history, is to have a common enemy. Be it real or imagined.

The Jews, the Russians , the Democrats.

Easy enough to get. Check Enterprise Ireland. Several newspaper articles in the past few years. I have it here in old fashioned hard copy EI report.
