Craft Central's delivery price has increased by 50c to €5.50.

I can't say I've noticed an uptick in cost of the cans I'm buying, however, I am being more particular with what I buy. Go back to this time last year or before, if I see a new brewery I might try 2 of whatever Bradley's got in. Now I'll almost always ignore an unknown brewery till someone on my Untappd whom I trust checks it in with rave reviews, then I might consider trying something new - but I usually just revert to my core stable of breweries I enjoy.

Sierra Nevada has a 19.2 fl oz can around at the moment - an imperial pint! It's €5.50 in Bradley's atm (€6+ on Craft Central...) and imo that's excellent value for a DIPA in that format.

20% off lots of craft beers in O' Briens at the moment.

Craft Central seem to have taken pretty quickly to the price increase before any other online craft beer retailer. Bit eager I thought.....🤔

Yeah I just did a comparison of the Yards and Crafts vs Craft Centrals new arrivals sections and across the board Craft Central is anywhere from 10-70c more expensive. The only thing I could find cheaper than Y&C on Craft Central was Ballykilcavan beers for some reason. I guess Craft Central have a wider selection but that's mostly US beers that are €10 a can and will be heavily reduced in a few months when they inevitably don't sell.

Other retailers like cancartel, craftbeerdelivered.....dont seem to have increased as much. I always found Y and C a little bit more in price than others but that seems to have changed now. I dont understand why Craft Central are persisting with these hugely priced beers that, like you say end up in their bargain corner eventually. Maybe there is a demand for them?

Ah here.....just noticed that they have increased their delivery charge to €5:50 too.

I have always found Craft Central to be that bit more expensive than Bradley's (see: new Sierra Nevada going for €6.15 on Craft Central, versus €5.50 in Bradley's, €5.95 on Yards & Crafts). I haven't ordered from them in a while due to that fact, and will only do so if there's something they have that's exclusive (other than their €10+ US imports). That said, that was my gateway store to craft beers back in April 2020!

Hang on - is their "€2.50 collection, "€3 collection" thing gone?

Kinnegar's core range is €3.15 across the board, no sign of any sort of collection like in the past. Could have sworn they were €3 in the past.

And the minimum order limit is up to €30 from €25 (or was it €20).

Craft Centrals €2.50 and €3 options are gone recently. Others still have it.

My mate got a €180 order stopped by customs from beerdome. He asked them to release it and have sent him a bill of €17 so is happy out. Bar the fact it's taken 3 weeks to get here.

Now that the 6 nations is finished I see Yards and Crafts have a 6 pack for €23 so about €3.80 a can, decent value

I've never used them before but I see https://www.craftbeersdelivered.com don't have a minimum order and delivery is €4.95.

I ordered some scaldy porter from craft central last week (€5.35), but they're €4.00 on craft beers delivered.

I'll definitely give them a go with my next order.

Ordered from craftbeerdelivered over the weekend.Much cheaper than craft central now. They dont have the high priced beers that craft central seem to be getting a lot of but I dont mind that.

Larkins has brought back their Dog Days micro IPA, this time it's (regrettably) a Craft Central exclusive. Was a super session can.

I would've generally found Craft Central cheaper than Y&C up to now. Their delivery has always been spot on, where as it's always taken a bit longer with anywhere using fastway for me (Y&C, Craft Direct).

I've used, and like, Craft Beers Delivered as they're great for bottles that others don't send. But I'm not sure they have the turnover - that scaldy porter mentioned is reduced from €4.70, so I'd wonder if it's a older batch tbh? They used UPS the last time I ordered fwiw.

I'm back in the office a couple of days a week, so I've been going to Craft Central/ Stephens Street News and picking up a few rather than adding to the stash, and with the WW taproom and a few other off licences near dad cab locations, even the DPD lad is slagging me asking have I given up drink!

Edit - new, and returning, Larkins not out front as of lunch time anyway!

That's it.Craft Central were the most reliable for next day delivery and the one I used most from all of the online retailers but the price increase has soured it a bit for me now. I can see price increases coming down the line for most but thought Craft Central were a bit eager with it.

In fairness to them, it could also be that they turnover quicker too, so getting hit with supplier increases quicker.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 159 ✭✭Dellboy54

That's true. Craft Central have had their price increase for a few weeks now though. Others are still on €2.50, €3 deals. Can their turnover be that quick???

Elbow Lane (Cork) is getting grants in to expand their operations with the aim of more output incl bottles.

I can barely get them into retail in Cork (Bradley's used to have them a bit in the past, don't remember seeing it recently) but their Angel Stout is superb.

New GBB stout for less than €5 at Bradley’s in Cork. I’m seeing it for €10+ on other sites. From GBB’s instagram they’re ageing the majority of this so picked up a second to hold to try against its BA companion.

That's got to be a mistake. I paid €10.20 for it yesterday.

Will be going on tap in Mother Macs tomorrow. Its only a 10lt keg so will probably only be 1/3 of a pint to give everyone a chance.

Picked this up at lunch, along with "You'll Pay for this with your Souls" by O'Brother (Drink Local this evening, as Wicklow Wolf still in the stash!), Rascals x Yeastie Boys "Krush Groove" and Rye River "Kahuna Krush" (hard to not pick up more Miami J though!)

Wicklow Wolf & Mescan's collab is a witbier.

I ordered a box of cans from White Hag yesterday lunchtime and it was delivered (Dublin) at 10 this morning!

Either you were lucky or I was unlucky, ordered around the same time and DPD have not received it yet 😕

Ordered a few cans from Whiplash just after midday yesterday, put them in the fridge just now (I get that it's all within Dublin, but I'm still impressed by the turnaround speed with picking, packing, and shipping)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,629 ✭✭✭✭Hotblack Desiato

I ordered at about 12:30 so maybe you missed the cut for shipping that day.

Putting a price sticker on the flap that opens down into the beer is inexcusable.
