Oriental women do nothing for me, plenty of very fine black ladies

I never got the fascination some men have for Asian women. I always had a preference for Latinas. I moved to a place where Latinas were pretty much a majority and then ultimately ended up with an Asian woman.

Growing up in rural Ireland and basing only off TV, movies and porn for looks gave a false perception. The reality didn't live up to it.

Yes it is definitely being pushed in an attempt to normalise it.

    So is it abnormal?

cant beat latina women, unreal in every way, unfortunately not enough in Ireland.

You clearly haven't spent too much time in any other country

Or this country for that matter either!
Ireland tends to be pretty good at marrying everyone. I’ve in laws via siblings and cousins from: China, France, England, Italy, Jamaica, the US and one of the cousins even married someone from Kerry.

It’s great! I’ve had invites to all of those places and there’s nothing quite like going to visit your married in cousins! It’s a whole different vibe to visiting somewhere as a total outsider.

If I like someone enough to marry them I couldn’t give a damn where they’re from. Some absolutely stunners from every continent.

Being religious isn't an issue itself, it's the extremes of religion that are problematic. Especially if coupled with a culture that sees women as property with no rights, merely there to be used at will.

Is it wrong that I got slightly aroused by this? :o

What if the removal of rights was only passed a certain time in the evening... then they would be reinstated during daytime hours!? :p

All races have attractive people, just as all races have unattractive people. People in general tend to be more attracted to their own race as they are likely to have grown up mixing mostly or entirely with their own race. It's really only in the last twenty years or so that other races have started to come and live in Ireland, as they become more integrated into society we we will see more and more interracial dating in Ireland.
We see in other countries which have a longer history of immigration that interracial dating is almost as common as dating the same race, with white men and Asian women being the most common and white women dating black men also common. I think this will happen in Ireland too.

I think religious views would be a deal breaker over the colour of skin.

Yup, and culture. A second gen immigrant who grew up in Ireland and was irish culturally wouldn’t bother me no matter what the skin colour. But there are a lot of cultural and religious differences that would be much harder to overcome

That's kinda ageist, don't you think?
And a good excuse to not allow the interracial relationship to go on.

He was approximately 33 she had just turned 18.

Wouldn’t you have some questions about your teenaged daughter going out with a middle aged man?

Yeah, that would be a major no no and red flag alright, degree of skin melanin wouldn't come into it.

Much prefer European myself, with a preference for the Mediterranean look. I can most certainly see some Asian, African or wherever women as beautiful, but I don't find them "hot" for some reason. My willie must be a nazi. :D

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

I’m kind of old so I’m not a fan of ageism but I have a teenage daughter and I would share Woke Hogan’s concerns regardless of race.

What is it about black women you dislike?

All the vexatious asylum claims. Once a liar always a liar.

Would you date someone of another race? I kind of get the feeling that Ireland is less race obsessed than places like the US or even some parts of Southern Europe.

You say less obsessed with America but then use the term "dating".

Mohammed PBUH met and married Aisha when she was under 10 and he was 50 plus.
If Mohammed PBUH can do it, so can you.

I've one issue (small one) please don't refer to 30s as middle aged It bordering middle aged ok?

    Thanks :)

"Definitions. According to the Oxford English Dictionary middle age is between about 45 and 65: "The period between early adulthood and old age, usually considered as the years from about 45 to 65." The US Census lists the category middle age from 45 to 65."

You might be right to have some questions, but I think you could have been asking the wrong questions!

The age of consent is 17.

You mentioned that this man had just left his wife and kids? That would be my biggest concern.

If your daughter was 16 though... I probably wouldn't blame you if you wanted to take a swing at him tbh... but at 18 he wasn't really doing anything wrong.

I think there's a big assumption in Ireland that anyone black has moved here from Africa. And that adds a strong religious/cultural differences element to it that could be an issue for some people. I've dated two black guys who were American+French and we had zero cultural issues.

I'm a second gen immigrant, I speak Irish (badly). My old man didn't want us under the catholic net. He was right. I don't mind cultural differences.

I don't have a problem with cultural difference. It's strictly religious!

I've dated a South Korean adopted child and a Polish girl living here since very young.
There were zero issues as they both were the same culture as I.

Could I marry an American, Indian, Peruvian, Israeli, Brazilian, Chinese, Kenyan? Probably not.
I'm happy in my culture and not particularly willing to change.

Any darker than a weekend on a Spanish beach is too dark for me :)

I've nothing against interracial relationships but my sexual attraction would be Irish or white European.

That said I'm happy as I am and not on the pull.

My son bought a house with his long term GF, but if my daughter was to have an interracial relationship I would be more concerned that their cultures wouldn't clash, outside of that if her partner was good to and for her then they have my blessing.

Great looking people in every race. Kind of regret never going out with many of them before settling down. There were less in Ireland when I was younger but I still definitely missed a shot or two through youthful shyness and ineptitude.

Fetishizing a particular race is a bit weird though, usually it's nerds obsessing over an unrealistic image of Asian women because they tossed off to too much manga.
