    2.5 kwh south facing.

    67.8 kwh generated for December.

Best day 6.2 kwh on the 6th.

Worst day .4 kwh on the 11th.

Not a great December. Consumed more electricity than in November (Not sure why), and produced less. 34% produced at time of use. 11.5kW system, central Texas. Utility have announced a rate hike of 10% or so upcoming, so at least some of the money is starting to get clawed back. I may even turn a profit by the end of 30 years...

    7.6 kWp (4.55 east / 3.05 west)

    67 kWh for December.

Best Day December 5th 4.56 kWh

Worst December 11th 0.37 kWh a dull drizzling day.

With the low angle of the sun of the west array is quite shaded at the moment.

Good bit of EV charging pushed up consumption this month too.

1st Month completed in December in Louth - 7.9Kw Panels, 6 KW Inverter, 5Kw Puredrive battery and an eddi.

216Kw of which almost 25% went back to grid, which really bugs me...

216Kw of which almost 25% went back to grid

That's pretty good generation for December all the same

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,454 ✭✭✭bullit_dodger

That's crazy good generation. What's driving the consumption? EV / Heatpump / Mining?

I guess you need another/bigger battery or take up "arc welding" as a hobby on sunny days or you'll be a basket case come March when the big generation days start!

@septicsac I hope you have an EV to put all that excess into that you'll be generating?

That 51kWh you exported in December would fill my car from 0-100%, giving me about 270-300km of winter driving (summer 400km). In Spring/Summer/Autumn you will be exporting multiples of that..... Thats free motoring for 8-9 months of the year if you so wish.

Not yet, but other halfs next car will be electric

  • Registered Users Posts: 485 ✭✭septicsac

FIT or EV will address some of it, which ever happens first

Unlikely due to panel heating, if I didn't hit 1mw with 7kwp south last year 😉

That's incredible for December, must be a sunny micro-climate in the wee county!

Got my electricity bill for Nov 15 to Jan 15 and my consumption was down 30% with my 7.8Kw panels and 5kw puredrive battery. On top of that I had no panels in operation until the 30th Nov when they were installed, so could easily expect another 7-10% reduction in consumption from the grid, pretty happy with it so far, just need this damned FIT to come into operation as still exporting to much to the grid at times.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,074 ✭✭✭championc

You need to up the self use rather than thinking about FiT. FIT will only be worth buttons.

If you don't have an EV, now is the time to start planning for one. Don't think about the initial cost but look at the cost over 5 years.

Every home with 2 cars should even look at a cheap 24kW First Gen Leaf for a local runaround.

EV would be on the list in next year or two alright. Regarding FIT not expecting it to be anything much, but anything is better than nothing, i just ahte seeing it go back for free

14 SE facing panels gave me 110.1kWh, in December.

Just about done for our second month (8.16kW 200° SSE facing on a 35° angle) with a total of 245.4kWh, although it was only a couple of kWh off projected outcome.

A fairly settled month weather wise but it was no great shakes on the sunshine front with just 9 days managing to hit double figures.

    Jan22 brings 144.6kWh

  • Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 14,996 Mod ✭✭✭✭AndyBoBandy

Despite a late surge, the month produced 87.9kWh

I’ve ran the washing machine or dishwasher (or both) on more days than not to prevent feeding the grid, and the daily output is only increasing……. Happy Days.

227kWh in Cork 6.1kW system, it was a very grey overcast month I though, or maybe that just me now noticing these things because I have a PV system now...and that's a normal January

6.1kWp south facing, South of Cork City

4.8kW EW Dublin. 10kWh DIY battery

    January 2022(kWh):

    Production: 78.6 (81 predicted)

    Consumption: 860

    Import: 783 (118d, 665n)

    Export: 1.7 (0.2 pred.)

    Best day: 24th: 4.3

    Worst day:15th: 1.2

The bigger battery and night charging means my import is now only 15% day rate.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,903 ✭✭✭paulbok

    6.84kwh, 4.8kw battery, SSE, Roscommon.

Only installed since the 10th so not adding to the spreadsheet.

App graph has 119kwh for the 3 weeks but higher on the app and the inverter both have it at 143kwh. That's working out around 93% of the forecast. Approx 1/3 of consumption covered.

Still getting used to the app, the total consumption is 50kwh off the production + grid purchases, not sure whats going on there.

    .

    Best day: 17th, 17.3kwh

    Worst day: 18th, 0.7

    Exported: 4.8kwh

Got my export down from 24% to 16% by making few changes, like dishwasher going on during the day and not at night.

7.8kw panels, 6kw inverter, eddi & 5kw Puredrive battery produced 324kw for Jan.

What are you using mate for the forecast?

I always keep an eye on your one as your close to myself in terms of location, size and panel orientation. I'm also in Dublin, E/W split (091/271 to be exact) and 5.3Kwp and yet according to

    https://re.jrc.ec.europa.eu/pvg_tools/en

my forecast with a 5.3Kwp is 66.6 kWHr. Since you have 4.8Kwp I'd have figured you'd be less. Thinking you using something other than PVGIS-SARAH ?
