    July total is 339.7kwh.

2.5 kwp system facing south, Galway .

    Best day 17.6 on 16/7.

Worst day 2.1 on the 6th.

The 10 days of sunshine made a huge difference, very low yield on some days early and late in the month.

I'm happy with the monthly total, I think that a 2.5 system producing anything over 300 kwh per month in the summer months is quite good.

Total for July 330kW though inverter says 290 all days added up is 330

    Best day was 16kW 18 and 19

Worst was 4.9kW on the 30 July

2.5kW based in northeast Louth and ssw

    Supplied by SASS

I wonder is there a problem with the Goodwe portal, I got my total reading from it via my phone on saturday night. There now appears to be a new total but the last 5/6 days of production are not in that total😮 yet the total since installation contains those figures, I'm confused.I kept a running total through the month and my 339 figure corresponds with the daily readings.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 471 ✭✭raytaxi

Thats possible I was watching the total over the month and was hoping to hit the same as previous months. I haven't checked meter in attic which would be most reliable way. Will get that done next day or so. Can't complain have over 1089kW since install in April.

I will get up to ckeck inverter readings later as well, but I find the Goodwe portal odd, there are discrepancies between the phone app and the desk top.Is the inverter reading the most accurate? at the moment I am getting total since install in mid May as 869kwh on phone and 923kwh on desktop.

2.52kWp south facing, Dublin city, installed Dec 12th 2020.

    December total 58.4kWh

    January total 82.6kWh

    February total 148.3kWh

    March total 222.8kWh

    April total 327.2kWh

    May total 345.6kWh

    June total 341.1 kWh

    July total 334.2 kWh

    Highest - July 19th (16.6kWh new highest)

    Lowest - July 30th (4.6kWh)

Meter was installed as part of install that measures the output from panels, I would think the inverter would show the same as the web and app think at times maybe slow to update.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,856 ✭✭✭kabakuyu

You're on the money, readings updated overnight, now showing 339.7 total for month.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 471 ✭✭raytaxi

Mine updated as well showing 330 not bad at all. I have 1093 total since install at end of April.

Big difference, you hit the good weather at installation.

    Figures for July:

    Generated 761 kWh

    Consumed 495 kWh

    Exported 391.7 kwh

    Imported 125.8 kwh

    Home 309.2 kWh

    Eddi 185.9 kWh

    Green 75% (369.3)

Good month overall. Import and export figure on the high side but still I think doesn’t justify a battery install. Will need to see what the autumn/winter is like although August is looking like giving a good taster of that!

Maybe it is debatable without the grant sure but if you can go for a setup like DrPhil's and not off the shelf stuff, it might be.

This is 3 month usage here (good months sure, but in winter you can buy night rate power and store it too)

    image.png

FIT is nowhere in sight as only that could have made the battery redundant with high exports.

Battery a no no unless self install, totally agree with that.

EVs will further "kill" batteries as night rate limits will be exceeded in Winter and batteries all but zero for half the year

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,875 ✭✭✭garo

night rate limits? I know Energia has 2000kWh every two months which you may exceed if you do all your charging at home and have a heat pump. But even so the higher rate is 10.95 which is still half the day rate on the EV plan.

I don't see any usage limits of Bord Gais' plan. Not sure about other providers.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch (i.e. central Texas), an astonishingly mild Summer, not a single day over 100 so far in July (37C). Normally 104-110 is typical. On the plus side, this means consumption was lower, on the downside, so was sunshine. Also, I've discovered that my roof is angled such that the sun is less perpendicular to the panels in summer, so peak power is less, even if the hours of daylight are more. Still, I never expected to produce more than 2/3 of summer consumption which is about what got, so things worked out about right.

    11.5Kw system.

2.1 MwH consumed. 1.4MwH produced. 0.9MwH consumed at time of production, 500KwH sent to the grid on credit (We get 1:1 here). Overall, 759KwH net imported for the month.

Sorry, don't want to derail the thread, but I need to have my Solar Panels serviced, and the technician who installed them won't come to service them.

Anyone know a good Solar Panel technician in County Galway (not Ryan Energy)?

Incidentally, my panels don't supply water hot enough to shower with from Oct to March - not good!!

    Servicing ? Servicing what ?

There are no moving parts. The only thing you MIGHT need to do is to wash the panels, and with Irish weather, that's debatable.

I think they are talking about solar water heating panels. This thread is for Solar PV. There is a separate thread for solar water heating panels.

What is the max kwh of your panels?

Trying to get a feel of what % of max production is realistic. Bit of of how long is a piece of string question, but hoping to get a ballpark figure for costing calcs.
