Match 45 Riders on the Storm - The Doors

It's not as annoying and infinitely cooler.

Match 46 You Should Be Dancing - Bee Gees

    Disco > Country & Western

Match 47 My Sweet Lord - George Harrison

    For the chill out vibe

Match 48 Don't Stop Me Now - Queen

    Frantic in the best way

    Match 49 Oliver's Army - Elvis Costello

    Match 50 Abstain, both crap

    Elvis Costello - Oliver's Army

Candi Staton - Young Hearts Run Free

    Elvis Costello - Oliver's Army

Candi Staton - Young Hearts Run Free

My votes as well and the second is one of my noms. I believe I have given the fifth vote in each case! At lesat I got one through. My other noms - The Eagles and Talking Heads songs lost out! Thanks to those who voted for them.

Only 3 of my noms have appeared in the qualifiers (Toto - Hold The Line, Dolly Parton - Jolene, Elvis - Burning Love) and were all unfortunately knocked out, but I'm guessing that means my other 7 nominations were multi-noms so that's probably a good sign they might fare a bit better. Fingers crossed anyway.

Same here but my three songs all went through :p

We probably picked a few of the same songs

Now I'm curious... What were your 3 that went through?

8 of my picks were in the qualifiers, the record is either 4-4 or 5-3, must check

    So looks like I'm a 70s hipster

3 good choices. Missed out on a load of votes, so think I missed out on Free's match (would've voted for them anyway), and I definitely voted for Thin Lizzy and Iggy Pop.

I also had 3 in these round of qualifiers
1 went through - Jean Michel Jarre (I didn't expect it tbh, it was a kind of a different choice)
Kraftwerk and Gary Numan/Tubeway Army out. I thought that Are Friends Electric could go on for a couple of rounds, alas it drew Angie, so I'll accept defeat gracefully

    I think I also had about 3.

AC/DC Can I Sit Next to You Girl went out, Bee Gees Jive Talkin' got through and I think ABBA SOS went out too.

If I'm counting correctly, three of my nominations have appeared. Two went through, one went out (Tusk losing to Rhinestone fecking Cowboy, I mean seriously people! )

Yeah, that was f**king ridiculous. Tusk is a phenomenal song - was going to nominate it myself, but opted for another Fleetwood Mac song at the last minute instead.

Ya I've had a few things on the last two evenings which are finished now, so I won't be running all the voting during the day, so people will get a chance to vote in the evening.

So the final two matches were as follows

    Match 49: Elvis Costello 5 - 3 Staples Sisters

    Match 50: Ramones 2 - 5 Candi Staton

Thanks to everyone who was voting the last two days, I didn't have to make a call on any match as the votes came in.

Onwards to Round 1 ... or the round of 128 as it's known in excel :pac:

My schedule is always all over the shop anyways, so generally makes no difference whether voting is during the day or evening, there's still a good chance I'll end up missing everything or I'll be able to vote in every single match... :D

Two big hitters to start off. I think I'll go with Creedence Clearwater Revivial here to keep it interesting

    Match 2: London Calling - The Clash v I'm not in Love - 10cc

As cheesy a song as they come, but 10cc

Match 3: Dream on - Aerosmith v Another Brick in the Wall Part 2 - Pink Floyd

    Pink Floyd

Match 4: You've Got a Friend - James Taylor v One Step Beyond - Madness
