I wouldn’t worry about it too much, 4 great questions plus that one - which doesn’t seem too bad from what you’ve said - could definitely be enough to pass

Thank you, fingers crossed anyway but I'm not sure :( It was a silly move by me

No didn't mention it, just s77 and s78. Went through each one and gave cases and examples. The question was the formalities and requirements needed for a valid will in Irish law. Extrinsic evidence is for how it is interpreted.

Oh dear, I misread this question, spoke about principles of construction and extrinsic evidence a lot more than s.77 and s.78. Hope it doesn’t cost me the exam 🙈 I was happy with my other four answers

Was there a s111 question on the legal right share? Just one in s117 the moral obligations to the child?

Yeah she left all her worldly possessions to the son so I threw in her wife was entitled to one third under s111. Then went on to the s117 part.....thats right isn't it?

Yeah in the examiners report from a year or two ago for a similar question the examiner mentioned it'd be good to mention 111 since the spouse didn't get anything

Has anyone got an up to date equity grid or sample answers? I have sample answers and exam grids for other subjects I can send back

**** you're right I never noticed that hope it doesn't screw it on me if the other questions were OK. Just went into section 117

What should be covered for contract? I have these topics on my revision list but feel like it could be condensed - any advice would be great.

    - offer & acceptance
    - consideration
    - estoppel
    - consumer protection
    - misrepresentation
    - mistake
    - remedies
    - discharge
    - contractual terms
    - exemption clauses

Well that was a good experience.

If you're reading this, thanks to the Law Society for pulling off the remote sittings. It worked very well and a fine experience overall. You're not going to get much praise here but fair play!

I’d second that! I had no issue with it been remote thankfully!

Can anyone give an idea of absolute necessity topics for constitutional? Feel sick thinking about the exam already, there’s so much to cover :(

That’s pretty preemptive I would say, not to be a negative Nancy. There’s four exams left and nobody knows how they’ve responded to proctoring issues.

Fairplay to them for finally getting their act together (we’ll forget about the fact they long fingered the process for the bones of two months and left us with uncertainty for that period) in actually organising them, but when I’ve forked out €440 for exams, and they’ve received approximately €198,000 (based off the number of candidates they said are sitting them), you’ll forgive me for withholding my thanks until I know the whole thing has actually been handled competently from start to finish.

Not a deliberate cut at the Law Society btw, I’m sure they’re doing their best, but I’ve been pretty astonished at how poorly they’ve handled things in comparison to when I sat my final year college exams at the end of April (with far less notice about going online).

I have the same and really unsure what do cut down on/whether I can cut down at all!

I would just cut things within those topics like only doing promissory estoppel, focus on damages in remedies, cut common mistake mayb as it came up in March etc

Yep - only sitting a few per sitting as I'm still in college.

The same but including capacity and intention as both due a run and easy to learn!

Has anyone been using the right click spell check function in the exam? I did it today and i must have clicked something different by mistake itead of the correct spelling but it kicked me out of the exam and completely uninstalled proctorio (honestly have no clue what I clicked) I managed to get back into the exam and finish it anyway but when i rang the LS to tell them about it the girl on the phone was like you're not suppose to use any spell check or right clicks because it comes up as suspicious activity?? if this is true I don't understand why that function is enabled then? now im so paranoid that its been flagging me as suspicious the whole time!

I used the spell check too as far as I’m aware it didn’t say that we couldn’t in the faqs

Okay best of luck and no offence but maybe try and work on being a bit less painful - I remember you mouthing off about how happy you were that exams were typed and dismissing everyone else’s concerns xxxx

I wouldn't say you have anything to worry about, even if it does flag you as suspicious once they look at your recording they'll see you weren't doing anything wrong... tbh they probably won't even look at your recording over that otherwise they'll end up watching everyone's recordings at that rate which would be 3.5 hours per person per exam

At this rate, I'm sure they know they've made a bit of a mess of it with the amount of people having issues during the exams and having to phone them during it.... I genuinely don't see how they'll be able to actually look at all the 'suspicious activity'

is anyone else thinking that freedom of religion for constitutional isnt going to come up because its pretty much been two on two off and it was off in march?

I was thinking the same but might have a look in case it comes up with freedom of expression or with right to refuse medical treatment maybe?? But can’t really see a full question on it coming up !!

Usually 6 weeks, but impossible to say this time with the new system

Would hope it would still be 6 weeks since exams were already delayed a month

Hi all! My last FE1 is contract law on Thursday next and of all of them, this is the one I've always felt the most overwhelmed by. I tend to get bogged down on certain topics and can't move on from them. I'm all over the place with notes too (not asking for any materials) but would love it if anyone had sound advice on either settling my nerves about it, or on how to approach studying best?

I'm happy to reciprocate with any of the other subjects as I've passed 6 and have a very good feeling about the 7th.
