Yes the brakes work but they are not NCT passable AND I have pics to show the car was like that when it bought. The car was clearly never inspected by the garage since they didnt even change the battery in the key.

How exactly then would you approach it so? Grovel for pity and goodwill at their mercy? I think not.

Their goodwill is all you have, Id love to know what other options you think you have? Tell us again about bringing the Uk car dealer to small claims court for vague complaints about a wear and tear item on a car...

    FYP.

What you have is...some photos of brakes taken at some random time off some random vehicle.

I had to change the batteries in both keys of the car I bought in the UK. Woodies diy store. 7 euro for a pair of good quality batteries. Job done. Get over it.

Folks not digging up old ground but a positive update and just want to share.

-Small Claims app was sent. Garage ignored and never responded.
-Full judgement in my favour for cost of front and rear pads + disks + expenses (my day off work + fuel bringing it to them and then to get it fixed myself)
-Small claim judgment was ignored by the garage and they didnt pay.
-I then got someone whose a solicitor to do me a favour and send them a solicitors letter which basically lit a match under their hole to say if they didnt pay their debt a receiver could be appointed to wind up the business (basically only calling their bluff) Right at the last hour they paid up.

I know I'm a persistent ****er but the way they spoke and messed me about and the condition they sold a car was a joke and I was determined to get something out of them. It shouldn't matter I was from the south and they were in the north (but I now will defo stick our side of the border from now on)
-And to add cream to the cake, the used car warranty they sold me seems quite good and I got new rear shocks and a full VW timing belt and water pump done in June all under warranty.
Only regret I have is getting the work done myself with a garage I trust using spurious parts and not going to a VW garage and getting dearer parts lol

I know I sound like a dick but my honesty and trust values got played with and I have a big passion for the industry and cars. I used to work at manufacturer head office so this whole experience was a big life lesson of what goes on the ground.
