Yep that’s it, I thought it would be lighting up the rear wheels everytime you as much as tickle the throttle but the torque vectoring wizardry really does a good job of putting the power down

Sadly no. When I was buying just before Christmas I had my choice narrowed down to a VRS or a business class Pajero - after doing the maths I couldn't justify the higher running costs while trying to save for other things. Might revisit in a couple of years as I'd love another one, but for now I've tried to be a little bit sensible:D

    Hard to be without one,

But probably the better choice, in terms of sensibility anyway :D

Put some M-style mirror caps from Autoid, I know its not an M car but I think they suit it. Also the German style plate wouldn't stay on the front so have a mismatch at the moment.

14 hours in the car yesterday, Dublin to Sligo and back, via many counties. Good little bit of spinning around on all the backroads. Only one close call where I nearly slid into a van on a turn, and we both hit the brakes and watched as we just slid towards each other. No contact, thankfully (single-lane backroad, covered in ice). Hat's off to the various councils. Every N road and R road have been gritted that I'd been on. Also noticed a few dangerous/tight turns had been gritted, likely by nearby farmers, so hat's off to them, too.

Did take the fun out of it a little, but the roads were very safe. Only seen one car in a ditch, and that was a Q7. Must've thought he was invincible. :o

The car is filthy (did another 12 hours today and will do the same again tomorrow and monday), has developed a slow puncture, and inside it's probably crying, but it did 14 hours for €34 worth of diesel, so I won't argue with that. :D

I can remember you posting photos of that Megane when you bought it new, can't believe it was over five years ago.

They did indeed. €200 for them, with good tyres all round. Cheaper to buy a set of alloys+tyres than to just buy 4 part worn tyres

How are you finding the change? I have a Mk5 & am finding it hard to justify the price jump as mine is still fresh.
