Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Any idea what black card was for there?

According to the lads on RTE - complaining to the ref.

Ludicrous decision by the ref/linesman if correct

    Butchered that goal chance.

**** that would have been an unbelievable goal.

Strange that the linesman would have to tell the ref that someone was complaining to him. Must have been something earlier

Only thing I’ve taken from that half of football is that I’m starting to like Dessie Farrell.

I'm working on the presumption that it was too as I really dont think a ref would give a black card for that as if he did then there'll be 20+ black cards every game

What does this display from a Dublin say about Mayo and Kerry?

Monaghan generally do well against Dublin, especially in League, getting rewarded for it tonight, for once.

Indeed Monaghan's defensive set up is a step up on the others mentioned.

Everything they touch tonight is turning into gold.Won't always happen.

They could be further out of sight.

Game should be over but that black card will cost them. Alot of teams will be taking a keen interest in the way Monaghan are set up. It's not rocket science. I've been wondering why teams haven't done it for years. I'm sure at least 85% of Dublins scores come from around the edge of the D or closer. Drop 2 forwards back, leave 4 up and counter at pace.

Being a Kerryman has thought me many things and one of them is never comment on Dublin within game!

Dublin need to eat into that lead in the first 10 mins of the second half.

8 of them against 14 men, and with the wind in their favour.

Coldrick having a shocker in Armagh. Weather is poor though.

Not for the first time. A finicky ref and horrible conditions is a bad combination

I’d back them now if they weren’t only 4/1. Still probably not too bad a price after that black card

Giving frees for absolutely nothing. Game far from over, interesting second half ahead.

They will eat into it - they are clinical when you give them an opening.
There'll be no more than a goal in it by the team he gets back in

Indeed, Kildare down 7 at half time.

I'd back that if I was you to be honest - they'll have that gap well down by the time its 15 v 15 and they are a real momentum team

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,435 ✭✭✭Scoundrel

Coldrick riding us blind like he always does biased in the extreme against us gave armagh an extra 10 minutes with the wind as well joke

They'll need goals to haul it back tonight I think. They weren't near a sniff of one so far. The black card will be hard to ride out though. Way easier on the old replacement system.

Not a hope, this isn't the same Dublin team.

They look like they are running through tar tonight

Unless Monaghan change tactics and take the two defenders off the D then I can't see them getting points that handy. Sacrifice a forward to sit tight back there for the next 8 mins.

I think this one is well over. Dublin just having a bad day and Monaghan will continue to create openings. Monaghan will get at least one more goal and win it by 6 or 7 points in end.
There going be very hard for dublin to break down even with 14 men so 9 points is huge gap.
4/1 for dublin win is way top short IMO

Yellow card for Mannion? As Tomas said - its the part of the game that is the most annoying.
A forward comes on and some lad just starts wrestling him - yellow card each? Idiotic

Very maddening. Easy way out for the referee.
A lad taking abuse and he gets booked.

You see it at every level and it would drive you crazy.
It's always a top quality forward and a corner back - if the refs just applied logic!

Why would the top quality forward want to be wrestling his man to the ground??

Bringing in that sin bin without the clock being stopped for ‘injuries’ is typical GAA move

Monaghan need to get the stupid needless fouling out of their game. Just their hole working the ball out and then do that

Would'nt read too much into a February night display with an apparently leggy Dublin Team.

Kerry is real live All Ireland contenders,Mayo are a team in transition.

Great credit to Monaghan, bit of a league bogey team for Dublin.

The absolute state of the weather though. We've been kicking into the wind. Some brainless decisions but that's been a huge factor on the score line.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,895 ✭✭✭Poor_old_gill

That shot from Kilkenny looked very close to being wide!

A lot of players in this Dublin team who seem overawed by the occasion

10-1 to Armagh now. Game over. Kildare look shattered.

Edt: Jamie Clarke just sent off for an elbow. Forker should've walked in the first half too.

45 mins in and no major dive by John Small yet so the league is missing one of its regulars but the James McCarthy 10 steps, rugby league style run is on show

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,820 ✭✭✭smelly sock

Jamie clarke 2nd yellow is a disgrace.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,129 ✭✭✭Lundstram

David Coldrick is without doubt one of the worst referees I've ever seen. Daniel Flynn booked for having the temerity to jump for a ball.

    Some strike by Beggan

    Hes a joke.

Armagh home and hosed anyway. 1 point in 43 mins regardless of the weather is dishraceful.

Just waiting for the Clifford dug to the kidneys. Get off the high horse, the yerra is loud in that post.

    There is no "yerra".
Small dives regularly and McCarthy overcarries regularly and did again to win a free a few mins ago - to be honest there is nothing even remotely controversial about what i said as the commentators were talking about McCarthy's overcarrying

This is the worst most embarrassing performance I've ever seen from a kildare team

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,820 ✭✭✭smelly sock

Ffs coldrick should be reffing ladies football.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,895 ✭✭✭Poor_old_gill

Very soft free to McManus followed by another soft free.
Ref needs to realise that lads slip when its wet and that doesnt equate to a foul.
