    Thoughts on Vardy’s potential rest?

I'm planning on captaining him so make of that what you will :-)

Leicester need to bounce back, can't see why Rodgers would rest him tbh

With all the talk of rotation I will do well to field eleven I reckon !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,862 ✭✭✭✭extra gravy

    Pope
    TAA Rico Soyuncu
    Mané Maddison Grealish KDB
    Aguero(c) Vardy Jimi

    Button Cantwell Lundstram Targett

    Good luck all

Yeah they need to bounce back but he’s played a lot of football. Rodgers hinted very strongly at resting him a few days back. I was thinking on benching him but maybe that’s too risky.

That is silly. Even if he doesnt start he comes on for 25/30 minutes against a tirig defence with Roberto behind them.....

All week had Jiminez still on the bench. And this is obviously a really tough fixture. But he is so consistent. And Zaha and Ricky are not........should I bench one of them instead???????
    team currently is
    pope (MUN)
rico (bha) soy (whu) TAA (WOL)
zaha (sou) ricky (new) mane(WOL) grealish (wat) alli(nor)
    Ings (CRY) vardy (whu)

henderson (mci) jiminez (liv) lundstram (mci) kelly (sou)

I have a LOT of players away from home so need to get bench and captaincy correct

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 910 ✭✭✭howareyakid

Really struggling to pick a team this GW. It’s currently:
    Heaton
    Dunk TAA Digne
    Grealish KDB Mané Pogba
    Vardy Maupay Abraham
    Bench: Zaha Rico Lundstram

Feel like Zaha could do something against Southampton so thinking of changing back to my preferred 3-5-2 and benching Tammy.

Zaha always seems to be better away from home so I don't think I'd bench him. I'm starting Jimi but fully expect him to be on the bench. Ricky who knows. Are you benching Kelly because you have Ings?

I would bench Pogba before any of them
He is going to be playing deep now with McT out, isn't fit and they are palying the exact type of team they won't break down

I am benching Kelly cos Saints are flying it and Palace keep conceding since I bought him!!!!!The reality is I watched them the 2 games before I bought him too and they were BLESSED to keep clean sheets.Rico is similar but has much more attacking threat.

Why do you expect Jiminez to be benched? I cant see it

    Could be a good call.

    Pope
    Soy aurier femenia
    Kdb mane salah alli
    Jiminez vardy ings

No transfer . Captain salah. Was convinced kdb would be benched this gw but him going off early last night has me confident he will start now.

    Here we go

    Bound to be some rotation

    Foster
    Robertson Rico Webster
    Alli KdB(C) Manè Alli
    Maupay Vardy Jimenez

    McGovern, Kelly Lundstram Dendoncker

Thoughts? KdB(C) looks pretty certain to start, right?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,336 ✭✭✭✭km79

Reading Ancellottis comments I am thinking of benching Ricky now.......had lined him up to sell for a hit for KDB anyway so this might be the best compromise !

Nothing to base it on really, just think Cutrone might get a run out because of the short turnaround but hope I'm wrong.

    FT banked

    Heaton
    Soyuncu, Rico, Aurier
    Alli, KDB, Mane(c), Grealish
    Maupay, Abraham, Vardy

    Pope,Zaha,Lundstram, Kelly

Jota is more likely to be rested than Jiminez but who knows

Wolves have 45 hours between games, there is no chance there won’t be rotation. Jota went off early last night, they have Cutrone and Neto to step in. I’d be surprised if they start Jimi tbh and I’ll be benching him.

    Going with:

    Gazzaniga
    Dunk, TAA, Soyuncu
    Mane, KDB, Alli, Richarlison, Cantwell
    Vardy, Ings

    Ramsdale, Jimenez, Kelly, Lundstram.

I’ll be pleasantly surprised if I don’t end up relying on Lundstram due to rotation though!

    Start Jimenez away to Liverpool

    Or

    Kelly away to Southampton

Rashford, Ings & Kane or Vardy, Ings & Kane? So basically Rashford or Vardy. It's such a tough call.

His Wife Rebecca is due one of these days - so he could easily be "rested" for that as well - it's very easy for his to be in the squad and then leave if his wife went into labour - risky put armband on him imo. But then again - I think it will be 90 mins or nothing type game so just have a guaranteed starter for VC

I think Palace are actually quite good when they need a goal so I’d start Zaha.

Tough call between the other 2.

I don’t like Richarlison anymore and can’t wait to sell him at the first opportunity.

I’ll be keeping Jimenez for the season.

That said it’s a very tough call this weekend. Coin toss.

I suppose Jimenez has given you no reason to bench him. Richarlison has.

    BHA V BOU

    No Connolly

King, Rico, H Wilson, Stanislas start.

Brighton XI: Ryan; Burn, Dunk, Duffy, Montoya; Mooy, Bissouma, Propper; Trossard, Maupay, Jahanbakhsh.

    💺 Webster on the bench

    ❌ Connolly not in squad

AFC Bournemouth — Ramsdale; Stacey, Cook(C), Mepham, Rico; Stanislas, Gosling, Billing, H Wilson; King, Solanke.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 664 ✭✭✭The wonderfish

Fear of some rotation but gone with:

    McCarthy
    Soy TAA Aurier
    Alli KDB Mane Grealish
    Vardy Tammy Ings (cpt)

    Pope lord baldock hayden

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 42,221 ✭✭✭✭Scorpion Sting

    Pope
    TAA Aurier Soyuncu
Salah (c) Grealish KDB (v) Mané Cantwell
    Jimenez Maupay

    Button - Lundstram Vardy Targett

Yeah yeah call me crazy for benching Vardy but I don't think he starts today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,602 ✭✭✭patmac

    Pope
    TAA, Soyuncu, Targett,
    Mane, KDB(c), Zaha, Grealish,
    Kane, Jimenez, Vardy,
    Subs: Button, Cantwell, Kelly, Lunstram.
Last time I captained KDB he got one point and TAA and Mane were rested.

Connolly will be a one hit wonder. Scores a brace against Spurs which turned him into the new Darren ‘Sicknote’ Anderton.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,396 ✭✭✭COH

    Ryan
    Soy - Rico - Aurier
    Salah (c) - KDB - Madisson - Alli
    Vardy - Rashford - Ings

    [ Button - Kelly - Lundstram - Dendonker ]

Disaster gameweek last week - same team, different captain, no hits. Hopefully a better swing of things this time around

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 42,221 ✭✭✭✭Scorpion Sting

    Jahanbaksh (Maupay)

Didn’t take long to lose the Rico clean sheet.

Suppose I can go to bed early now.

    Every cloud.

    Night all.

Started Rico ahead of Targett because I thought there was a better chance of a clean sheet. Nice of him to prove me wrong after 3 minutes.

Mooy looks very good like he did at times against spurs. Appears to be taking set pieces too. Could be one to watch at 4.8

Cilson as part of a -4 not going too well so far! Although the longer Bournemouth are losing, the earlier he may get some game time and push for a goal.

Maupay in for Abraham already kinda working out.
