I'm not sure, maybe it's expired. Under the original listing where it says promotions, there was a box to tick, to take off 70% at checkout.

Just a word on this. This is a decent spec drone but there is no camera. It has mounts to attach GoPro/ Yi Cams. So for anybody wanting to record footage, they will need to add this.

you won't find a cheaper drone with brushless motors.

I have absolutely no need for this but am considering getting one.

Would you not be better to spend a bit more on a drone with a camera than spending upwards of €40 on an additional camera?

No, this is a brushless motor drone, completely different animal to the toys you normally see around this price range.

Also, the SJCam is the only one €40, but it is an independent wireless action cam, the other cameras are much cheaper and they attach to it.

I'd like to mount my own camera cradle to this. Does anyone know what the bracket receiver is like ?

Thanks OP, purchased the amazon uk one for 27.50. Quick check on legislation and drones over 1Kg need paperwork. This one is supposedly 1.4Kg. Anybody want to shed some light on the situation or correct me?
Did another quick google and got this. https://www.thejournal.ie/drone-guidelines-ireland-3769954-Dec2017/
€5 to register for two years.

The whole box may be over 1kg but the actual unit would be more like 3-500 grams so no registration required.
As far as I remember the limit is 30m high and within line of sight. Unless your in a direct flight path or your annoying people you'll be grand even pushing those limits a bit.

Edit: Drone weight without props and landing gear is 414 grams, so well below registration weight.

Fab fücking BA. 11/10. Only flown in the garden as yet but for this price I'm very happy. Don't land it on soft grass :p

Will test battery capacity tonight. Might be room for an upgrade there later.

Mine is an Xmas present from the wife so I'm flying some of my other drones in anticipation and also watching YouTube videos about the bugs 3.
Looks like standard battery connections so easy upgrade there and also spare plug for an inbuilt camera if you don't want to hang a go pro off it.

I've seen a few batteries around with 3000mah, anyone have an opinion on them?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 228 ✭✭mickotoole

I had some problems getting the drone blades to spin. I followed the instructions but didn't realise the throttle had to be in the fully down position for the blades to begin spinning. Looking forward to getting it out in the park tomorrow.

Ordered one too, it arrived today, charging now.

Anyone know how to open the camera mount? Mine seems to be jammed, neither end of the clamp wants to open.

Is anyone elses calibration button jammed? Can't move it!

Thats not the calibration...... Both levers bottom right is calibration. There is one unused button.

I jumped on this BA too quickly and assumed it was GoPro mount system. Its not. The latch on my camera mount snapped the first time I opened it (carefully) as it was bound way too tight - plastic probably cooled. Managed to strap a Session 4 in but its far from ideal.

Somebody want to make these and sell them to boardsies for a fiver?

Quick Q - anybody else’s left controller stick really loose. The right controller stick is springy. I don’t want to put it all together and then return it - I’d rather return it as is if it’s broken. Sorry if it’s a silly Q.

The left stick should only be springy left to centre and right to centre, not up or down.
I'm sure there's a better way to word it.

Got one, pretty good for the money, any recommendations on a camera?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 707 ✭✭✭OnLooker

Got one as well. Have a GoPro already so it should be great.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 511 ✭✭✭ChewyLouie

Took it for as spin this morning, first time flying a drone
Very impressive bit of kit for the money! Very responsive. Drifting a good bit in the (light) wind though so wouldn't take it out in a windy day. Battery alert went off as expected to allow a controlled landing.

Battery's flyable capacity is about 1300mAh. A true 1800 should fit if you find the right one. Might be slightly heavier but not a problem. An extra sled for one would have been cool to include.

BTW I'm not using the included charger, it could be fine but no reason to take chances are with two B6s here.

1800mAh battery listed here for £13.99.
    (slow delivery though)
