"Ball was out no problem". Well we know who the ref wants to win.

Japanese ball skills are off the charts

Strategy is clearly to pin Japan in their own half.

Furlong didn't look happy coming off.

Carty needs to use his backline more.

From the replay I'm pretty sure it was out...

Criticism of carty is ridiculous. He’s been brilliant in the first half. Should have made two more tries. Would have backed stockdale to have scored if he went on the outside of the defender. And one of the two kicks to Earls could have ended in a try. The kick off that went dead was poor but he’s made some good tackles.

The real issue is the team look tired and are giving away too many penalties and give Japan the chance to get in the game.

Come off it. The kick to Earls was a questionable decision and poorly executed. His restarts were poor. He kicked possession away a couple of times. He had a mediocre half like the rest of the team. I'd give him a pass as it's largely a pre planned approach, I would assume.

    Brilliant is extremely one eyed.

Give him a break, forwards are all over the place

Yeah. They are world class at coming in from the side.

It's not a uniquely Japanese thing. It goes frequently unpunished in almost every game.

Yeah, but they’re bound to make mistakes sooner or later. In a game though.

Ringrose playing well but missing tackles again (5/3). Poorest match I can remember from Furlong.

Hopefully the subs give us a boost, this game is very tight

The ball extended beyond the hindmost foot.

Japan tighthead collapses under pressure - Gardner tells Ireland to use it

    What’s a Gary Owen?

  • Registered Users Posts: 582 ✭✭✭Hobosan

Miles in from the side again. How was that not called?

    Took two jacklers out!

Continuous tackling off the ball from the Japanese.

Finally... Box kick our way to victory here. Should have been deployed earlier

Do we have to give up on the box kick.

Teams are simply not being penalized for blocking the chasers so it will struggle to work.

Gardner is a bit of a joke.

Japan cramping and tiring now, we'll be away with it soon, we play much more efficiently

You have to be winning those lineouts

Japan with all their shenanigans and fair play to them they have to try and get parity, Irish teams were doing that for years but the officials just are not interested in it.

Dangerous game trying to milk a penalty from scrums. The ball was available, Murray should have just played it.
