Not many late 80s early 90s American comedy stands up but married with children is still funny!

That was one of my choices :)

Mam, spook, and anyone else, I’ll vote for yours if you vote for mine :D

I can't believe that I missed this! Booo!!

Most of mine are already named above:

    The Wire
    The West Wing
    The Sopranos
    Chernobyl
    Taxi
    Hill Street Blues
    and many more..

I can't believe these aren't named but I have faith! Surely someone will have PM these in..

Buffy the Vampire Slayer - classic TV. The writing is smart and sharp. Even rewatching, you can see nods to later plots and characters in very early episodes. And changed the whole goody/baddy dynamic and (even though this might be unforgivable!!) spawned a new genre in vampire/other monster tv and films.

Dallas - the original. As soap operas go, this opened up the whole genre.

Newsroom - too short but maybe they did the right thing. It was tough staying up to date with what was happening, but it was a more serious and politically heavy West Wing.

Only Fools and Horses???? Come on people!!

The Young Ones - launched how many careers?

I have to get back to work but I am on tenterhooks waiting for the voting!!!

    Both?

That kid from Fireman Sam is a right C U Next Tuesday!!

Norman the little pyromaniac who is part of a shadowy conspiracy to siphon all the public money in ponty pandy into emergency response coffers? Hate him, and so do my kids. We were in wales, passing Pont y Pandy near Porthmadog and we saw this adult with curly red hair, glasses and believe it or not a jerry-can. The kids lost their ****. It was brilliant.

Anyway I hope someone out there remembered a time when TV programs were safe, stale, uninspiring, but one man saw a way to change things, a way to do the same thing but in a different way, to re-energise the format of procedural drama, to tackle difficult topics in a palatable way, to create watercooler moments that would set a whole country talking.

The greatest show you never saw.

    Cop Rock

    Be careful out there....

Tough choice... First bunch of great shows that comes to my head.

    Sons of Anarchy
    The West Wing
    Brooklyn 99
    Homeland
    Suits

Game of thrones and House of Cards would have been up there if it wasn't for their final seasons.

    Baywatch:eek:
    TJ Hooker:eek:
    Chips
    Married with Children
    My Name is Earl

In fairness, Married With Children is a legitimate contender, probably not to win, but definitely one that could do well.

TJ Hooker wasn't Willam Shatner in that with a sprayed on police suit lol?

    Tell me it’s SOA.

That was a truly awful show, the writing is some of the worst I’ve seen.

I don't mind it but I'll never forgive them for the 'trip to Ireland'

I know it was pretty bad in parts, but i was so invested in it and the soundtrack is immense. Wouldn't expect it to be on many peoples' lists
