    ...

Could you please answer this question from earlier? I noticed you ignored it and answered a question posed to another poster instead.
Timbah's biggest argument seems to be that Dave Rubin is gate-way to the alt-right, would you or anyone else that has watched Timbah's video agree with this?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,117 ✭✭✭✭Junkyard Tom

Duh duh duh duh exactly the same as the video I posted about the late night comics under Stewart. Why are we going backwards?

Okay.. you dismiss the Timbah exposition on Rubin. You then ask for a summary of the video only to dismiss that too and refer to some other video I haven't watched and have no interest in watching.

You're a Rubin fanboy - that's cool and all but don't try to sell yourself as some honest debater because you're not. As I said earlier in the thread - this is a waste of time.

I'm all for criticism when controversial topics are discussed. I welcome it and cherish it.

I draw the line at smears, surely you must see the difference?

Is it possible to want less immigration without being a racist?

Yes I dismiss a lot of the criticism that Timbah throws at Dave. This criticism could be thrown at any type of media today, like the example I gave of late-night-comics.

Could you please answer this question I noticed you missed it:

I've have answered every question you posed to me. I would hope for the same in return, but alas not so.

I've been called a lot worse on these very boards.

Apparently I have a problem with women, because I call domestic violence not a gendered issue.
Is that acceptable discourse in your eyes?

Christina Hoff-Sommers(member of IDW) was denounced by the Southern Poverty Law Centre as an 'enabler of male supremacy' because of her opposition to radical feminism.

Do you think this is fair? She describes herself as feminist, "The Factual Feminist"

She is also a 'female supremacist' according to some MRA groups.

I think it's difficult to simultaneously be a female and male supremacist, I guess she just loves people kind.

(The SPLC website listed above about 'male supremacy' lists Erin Pizzey as an MRA... I had to laugh so hard. She started the first domestic abuse shelter in the world for women. Erin is probably the most maligned person in the IDW- Male supremacist... hahhahahahahhahah)

Why are you people taking OP seriously? It's obvious what's going on. Just ignore them.

She is a lovely person. Probably one of the most timid, articulate, intelligent and pleasant people you'll ever see.

She gets unfairly smeared for things she doesn't actually say just like all the people in the IDW.

Its not about being oppressed. Its about having what you say unfairly mis-represented.

Please take a look at this short 4minute clip of the type of thing that she does.

    What are you talking about?

Since it's so obvious why don't you form the argument and present it? Or would you prefer to smear from a sedentary position?

Who's them? I believe I'm pretty much on my own here.

I have been following these people for quite sometime, so it really just clicked with me when Bari Weiss released the article in the NYT mentioning them as 'the Intellectual Dark Web'.
    • Eric Weinstein
    • Ayaan Hirsi Ali
    • Sam Harris
    • Claire Lehmann
    • Douglas Murray
    • Maajid Nawaz
    • Jordan Peterson
    • Steven Pinker
    • Joe Rogan
    • Dave Rubin
    • Ben Shapiro
    • Lindsay Shepherd
    • Michael Shermer
    • Brett Weinstein

They are mostly a collection of disillusioned liberals looking for a place to have honest conversation about things that others aren't willing to have. They do not form alliances based on their identities or tribal affiliation.

As soon as the Intellectual Dark Web (IDW) appeared (Bari Weiss NYT), so did accusations that its members are all closed-minded and politically partisan.
    idw-positions-miessler.png

What do liberals have against this eclectic bunch of individuals?
They are not getting any hate from the right.

In particular Dave Rubin a fully fledged gay leftie, bordering on socialist, nicest guy in the world, willing to have a conversation with anybody, yet the vitriol he receives(from the left) is quite disgusting.

These are all rock sensible individuals that the MSM will just smear as Nazis and white supremacists - total joke, they are just insuring Trump will win again in 2020.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,336 ✭✭✭Dave_The_Sheep

Who's them? I believe I'm pretty much on my own here.

Them can refer to a singlular person, for example, I don't know your gender so I can't say him or her, so I say them. I realise this is a tough one.

And I'm sure you believe a lot of things, frankly.

I only argue that they are unfairly maligned. Other people put words into their mouths and then argue with that strawman. Just like is going on in this thread time and again.

I admit most of these guys have faults, some more glaring than others. Just like most humans have faults they are not perfect. Doesn't stop me agreeing with them on issues that are anti- politically correct. That's especially when they get maligned.

Most of them don't/wouldn't even vote for Trump. I believe what they are doing is helping the left in the long run more so than anything else.

So you using them to refer to me, fair enough I have no problems with what pronoun you use for me, just as long as I know so there is no confusion- good stuff.

No, I read it. I just don't care to reply, or engage with you on the topics you want. Like I said, it's clear what's going on.

You're not arguing in good faith, as evidenced by many, many of your replies in this thread (and before you ask, no I can't be arsed quoting them). I also won't be replying to you again.

When you inevitably post in response, declaring me unable to reply because I have no arguments and yourself victorious, enjoy it.

This whole thread and the IDW is about precisely this. People making laughable claims about people without evidence. Your hilarity knows no bounds, well played sir!:pac:

About 55% of the posts in this thread are OP trying to defend their hilarious position. You can suck off all these idiots all you want, but most sensible people couldn't give two shíts what Ben Shapiro and Jordan Peterson have to say. They're manipulative cúnts.

Nice; go for the low hanging fruit.

What exactly have you got to say about Eric Weinstein?

He regularly gets straw-manned. Heres a recent tweet from 10hours ago

So I was open to exposing protest singer and cultural icon @billybragg and his claims against me to my audience. I was willing in exchange to go onto his stage (where he has home court advantage) to show HIS audience that he was strawmanning me. It was not to be. Door still open.

Apparently the Bragg-Weinstein debate is in fact... on!

Look forward to it the next time Bragg is in Los Angeles, I'll certainly post it up if and when it happens.
Stop playing to the gallery Eric. You responded to my criticism by inviting me onto your podcast. I’m happy to accept if that offer is still open.

Stephen William Bragg is an English singer-songwriter and left-wing activist.

55% it should be easy to prove what you're saying.

Would you consider yourself a left-wing activist?

LMAO the idea that these fools dress it up as solidarity is the funniest part of all. It's faux politeness, much like the sealioning mentioned earlier.
A lot of the time people are just not interested in listening to this drivel. It doesn't mean that they're trembling at the might of high IQ and superior wit, just that it's really not worth their time.

Based on your account and how quickly you're accumulating posts in one forum only, this has the feelings of a work. If you're actually legitimate, I wish you get the help you clearly need. Truly.

Looks like you two should get a room together where you can talk about 'what it is' I'm doing, since neither of you are inclined to answer any questions around here and prefer instead to smear mud in a conversation you have proven you know nothing about.

Answer the question: What is it I'm doing around here? You already stated it was obvious. It's not my talking points it's yours.

Funny thing the whole reason the IDW exists is because of the tactics posters like Dave_The_sheep and The_floyd_p use.

Could they could just engage in proper dialogue on a discussion board of all places, is that really expecting too much? Nowadays, yes!

You two sound like the Emperor's new clothes salesman. Everyone knows it's so obvious! But I'm not showing you! nanannana! Children
The weavers are con-men who convince the emperor they are using a fine fabric invisible to anyone who is either unfit for his position or "hopelessly stupid"

Timbah.on.Toast the creator of said video about Dave Rubin, declares Rubin's biggest crime as follows:
However, the guests aren’t the problem, and never were. Its Dave’s deceptive approach to interviewing.
This is what forced him to make 3hours+ of content about Dave Rubin. Apparently this is what causes all the hate.

Please for anyone that believes this Timbah guy deserves credibility (since you might not know Rubin, and take his opinion as gospel)
Look at his take of the James/Luna Younger case which is the only other video he has on his channel.

Not only is he a left-wing activist, but a far one at that. One of the most absurd cases of PC left politics to date. A Texan mother is attempting to force a happy, cisgendered boy into becoming a girl, even after he made it clear he identifies as male.

Timbah spins it as the mother is enduring great hardship just so her transgender kid can be happy. I'm not making this up. I'm not sure if he's that stupid that he thinks anyone doubts the mother's intentions, it shouldn't distract from the fact that she's trying to give puberty blockers to her baby boy!
Enjoining Father from engaging in non-affinning behavior and/or taking Luna outside the home as James, or allowing others to do so.

It is, ultimately, really hard to figure if this statement is an evil or misguided mother attempting to prevent a sane and reasonable father from protecting his cisgender son, or a transphobic, bigoted father, and a mother protecting her transgender daughter.

    But Timbah sure knows.

Oh it looks like Timbah also has a patreon account. I guess that makes him a grifter.
