Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ireland have to be one of the worst International sides when it comes to using a penalty advantage.....
    Brutal and against 14 men

Ah Conway - that was poor.

Who got carded for the penalty try?

  • Site Banned Posts: 12,341 ✭✭✭✭Faugheen

We’ll take the penalty try but again, we haven’t shown any kind of attacking prowess when we get into the 22.

Decent clearance by Marmion. Very tight for him.

I still don't get the hype with Conway... And I'm a munster fan.
He's just not international standard in my view.

Mind you I think the same of Addison.

We are trying to force things too much. Toner latched onto Henderson there and we made yards. Earlier POM missed a latch on Conan just befire the Farrell knock on

    Healy Kilcoyne Porter Furlong Ryan
    Best Scannell Cronin
    Ryan Toner Henderson Kleyn/Beirne
    POM Stander VDF Jordi Conan
    Murray Marmion
    Sexton Carbery Carty
    Henshaw Aki Ringrose Farrell
    Stockdale Earls Kearney Conway Addison/Larmour

This is the squad. I think it will be Kleyn)Addison. Back row is a concern. Would kill for a fit SOB or Leavy. Ruddock incredibly unfortunate over the years. Best a concern at Hooker if he doesn't recapture his form.

That’s a phenomenal stop by Conan from that maul.

None of our backs today were good, bar Stockdale.

Its a dreadful game. I still believe we will struggle to get out of the group with two tough games against scotland and what will be a very plucky japan side

to be honest, why would you give the FB to a winger there? That was for a forward to truck up or a box kick.

The difference between Conway and Larmour is Conway will step you at pace, larmour's stepping takes the pace out of his runs.

Big difference in the way the welsh backs run at pace into the ball in attack and in the way we are static when receiving the ball.

He's one of the few players that can predict and support a sudden line break. We just don't get too many of them for him to shine in my opinion, and that goes doubly for Munster.

Just curious as to what your threshold is for what is playing well for a back?

  • Site Banned Posts: 12,341 ✭✭✭✭Faugheen

Best is doing a bit of poaching here. Won a turnover already and only didn’t get that one because we had given away an offside penalty

So he shouldn't have been given the ball you mean?
    Strange defence of the situation.
He elected to try the step and failed.

Christ, two missed tackles in a row

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

Carty and Luke McGrath really should’ve hit him

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,845 ✭✭✭shootermacg

    Looked forward to me.

The last pass looked more forward than the pass for conways try

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,458 ✭✭✭kuang1

Mcgrath did his cause no favours there!

If Carty's pass was forward, that last pass was too.

Ringrose not great again since he came on. Some missed tackles.

Carty's had a rough second half considering he was going so well in the first half.

And Completely brainless in unstructured phase play

I was going to say the same.

Don’t think we can pin too much on Carty and McGrath there. Carty got stepped and McGrath slipped when putting the brakes on.

How on Earth do you pin that one on Dave Kearney?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 31 PinaKolada

Ireland should be well ahead. For all the early praise Ireland **** the bed again when they should have been putting Wales to the sword.

We were terrible with the penalty advantages and allowed Wales to eat up the sin bin time with scrums conceding only one score which kept them in sight of Ireland.

If they lose this to what's been an awful second string Welsh team it'll be worse than last weeks defeat.

McGrath slipped because he overran it. Should have taken the inside shoulder with carthy already there but I guess that easy to say when it's not in the moment

Shot out and took neither man nor ball.

If Heaslip could stop hollering and guffawing that would be great. Go sit in the stands if you’re going to fan boy.

What a save by Luke McGrath

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

That was brilliant from Ringrose and McGrath

Should have been a penalty there anyway. Second movement to crawl to the line after Ringrose tackle.

What else was he supposed to do? Wales had an overlap.

Seriously, what was he supposed to do?

Been poor since James Ryan went off. He's captain after World Cup IMO
