    Bulletproof, ultra reliable motor, 12 months NCT, 6 months tax for €2,200. Has a dent in the boot though. Check the tyres to see what brand is on them to see how well they were looked after. Might be of interest to someone. Little deprciation over the next couple of years either way.

    That's a €400 car not a 2k+ one.

    Is this the COVID extension? All cars get an extra 4 months? When it was last tested is what I want to know when buying a car, not how long I can not do it again.

    Personally, I despise ads without a reg.

    The Alfa had a fresh test in last week of September. It seems to be sold now anyway

    You are right about the 2k, that's a bit optimistic but so is the notion that it could be bought for 400.

    i love this, i had same model 1L S while on the dole in-between owning a 306 GTI and a Mx5. It drove like i expected the old minis should have in my head. Sweet revvy twin cam 1L and excellent gearbox, rear drum breaks for the sneaky handbreak drifts, you could really throw it round at relatively safe roads speeds. super reliable and comfy enough too. Rusty sills killed it for me.

    Being a Terra it is most basic Irish spec. No electric windows in the rear, wheel trims, bluetooth and cruise control etc would be wishful thinking. I had a 2009 Auris and it felt very tinny compared to previous model Toyota's I had. In particular the massive panel of what seemed light fragile plastic on top of the dash stood out. That said it was probably just the finish more than anything. Underneath they are probably fundamentally relatively solid and reliable.
    Also the Auris I had with the same engine was not overly frugal.

    Reliability and ease of maintenance are the key selling points for that car though. If it was half minded it should be good for a long time yet, just without the frills.

    I sold a 97 Micra for €700 11 years ago and was delighted to get that for it.

    In a bizzare twist I ended up buying it back from the girl in 2011 and my gf drove it for a few years until rust killed it.

    We've had an 11 Auris for 6 years, MPG isn't great but mostly used for short runs, never a days bother and flew test every time except last year when the NCT got fussy over dust plates, 30quid a piece so no big.

    This would interest me far more than that Carina - XLi saloon with 87k miles, bit of NCT (January), €1200

    Longer test would be ideal but not a deal breaker really, you don't see many decent examples of these any more

    Mad photography. He was clearly trying to (hide) highlight somethings....and is that fresh oil on the driveway, under the front right ?

    Nice looking CLK 240, NCT til March 2021, original Irish with 1 previous owner and current since 2014, €1100

    I know these don't have a great rep but this looks lovely and is nicely spec'd. Recent NCT pass too so providing there isn't anything majorly wrong it could be sent in for an early test in the new year.

    The chap selling the carina in Roscommon is in la-la land.

    It a clean motor with body damage, even a lower mileage one with unmarked bodywork isn’t worth more than €2k.

    Chrome wheel arch surrounds on a w210 and advert description of "no big rust" and "small bubbles on one wing" spells rotting underneath to me too.

    From the ad;
    The car still has NCT until January due to the covid extention and I am certain that it will fly the test no problem at all.
    From MotorTax;
    Transferred to an Individual on: 18/08/2020
    So, nothing wrong with it, but you're trying to get rid of it before the (extended) NCT is up? Also, he didn't put tax on it when he bought it makes me wonder why he's not prepared to sink any money into it.

    Dont want to annoy the regulars as it doesn't fit criteria , but check out the pictures on this add.

    Never seen an add with such pics up.. Obviously a mistake, but surely you check the add before you publish it

    To be fair that w210 would make an outstanding rwd wrecker if it could be tested handy. Anything else that can stand up to any sort of abuse has gone very dear this past year.

    Very very rare to see a v6 with a manual box.

    It seems to be more common for small time dealers to take their car pics in church car parks .I noticed one recently who snapped a dozen or more cars(his entire stock?!) in the grotto of The Oblates Church in Inchicore .In one pic you can see a Garda on a bicycle who has most likely been asked to get involved!
