Corrupt Republican backers will be the undoing of Trump! Their attempts to extend the swamp to Ukraine's oil industry looks to be insidious, especially in the manner that they were advising anyone who was interested that they would be having the US ambassador to Ukraine changed, months before the lady herself knew.

And it was all so complex that poor old Trump started to confuse the different shake down efforts.

I agree. I don't think people realise the ramifications of backing off and allowing Turkey to move into Kurdish areas. There will almost certainly be genocide as a result of this not to mention the wholesale destruction of the only functioning modern democracy in the area, even if it is only just finding it's feet. The kurdish controlled areas are usually a mix of different ethnic groups and religions Co-existing, they are also adapting more modern approaches to society like equal voting rights, women can join the military.

I wonder why this decision was made. Who or what has put pressure on Trump to enable this, my suspicion is the Russians since Erdogan is trying to align with Russia.

I genuinely don’t understand why people are surprised here. The US is in a temporary alliance with some Kurds but is in a long lasting military alliance with Turkey, NATO.

I know that doesn’t make it right. But the US hawks did what they always do. Use native allies until they outlive their usefulness and then toss them aside.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Erdogan promised to chip in more money to NATO if Trump agreed to let Turkey invade Syria.

    Unlike the liberals?

I'm pretty sure the biggest one, Steven Crowder, is self funded. It was a big liberal corporation ( Vox ) that tried to get his channel shutdown.

Ah come on now. Vox went after Crowder for calling one of their journalists a “lispy little queer”. I think that’s a pretty blatant breach of the YouTube rules.

Given recent events, I would say it's something that benefits Trump personally rather than the US

Good to see economic policies being a success too

The evolving supply chains in China to counter this absolute ****fest is something that will be exceedingly difficult to reverse for whoever has to clean up after the stable genius

Whatever Trump wants to get done, he will get it done as it appears likely he has something over the rest of the Reps.

If it suits Trump to let congress object and something not to proceed, he lets that happen, saves face and blames it on them.

I strongly doubt that the Kurds will align with either Assad or Iran

I'd agree , but they certainly won't go into Battle to assist the US any time soon either.

They'll defend themselves from both sides now and take huge losses as a result.

Incidentally, L Graham is now on Fox and Friends, a f**king TV show, trying to convince the actual President of the United States, to reverse a decision with huge implications.

Tell me - how is this not utterly insane?

What he has over them is the terror of being primaried.

Lindsey Graham is the poster child for that fear.

The only thing they care about is re-election and retaining power.

As long as he has the support of the GOP voter base he is untouchable.

If his "base" are OK with it , there is literally nothing he could say or do that would make the elected representatives of the GOP vote against him.

Trump has lost the New York court case to keep his his tax returns hidden. Twitter storm incoming you'd expect.

I feel stupid asking this but it's a consequence of how gaslit the world has been by this pack of clowns, but could this actually mean he has to release them now?

Again, feels like such an exceptionally stupid question but Trumpworld makes me question everything

Is too much of a coincidence that as the impeachment inquiry gets going that trump announces that the Turks are getting free reign in area where Isis was strong ? If I didn't know any better I'd say it's a way to get people talking about something else other than impeachment.

Yup it's begun, referring to himself in third person no less.

This is Trump we're talking about; he'll appeal it and keep appealing it for as long as possible while working on to get them "go missing" at the relevant authorities. He's already had his lackeys try to block mandatory review of the presidents current tax submissions as well.

I guess he forgot the part about the other presidents actually releasing them; or his promise to release them if he became president but then again it's Trump which means reality is what ever he states in his latest tweet and nothing before has ever happened...

That he's worth a lot less then claimed (claimed 3 billion mark; most likely below a billion) and most likely making a very modest if any noticeable income over the last couple of years. Of course he'll claim it's tax planning and all trump wannabies will applaud it as tax fraud being a great thing and proves what a genius he is because of it (as with his previous examples that were released).

    All three I’m guessing.

I expect that's exactly it - I don't think that he's ever been even remotely close to having the kind of net worth that he has always claimed - he's never been a Billionaire.

I also doubt there's anything illegal in them tbh - At least not directly , the IRS would have found that already.

The illegality may come from him claiming one valuation on his properties for tax purposes and a different higher one when applying for loans etc.

But the absolute number 1 reason is to prevent the utter puncturing of his entire "Billionaire" persona.

Sadly, even if this gets through (and, unsurprisingly, team Trump's appealed already and the 2 District Court is holding up release,) the material will go to the Grand Jury as part of investigations being run by the NY AG (Cyrus Vance), and hence not be made public 'by default.' I suppose they always could be ,but they're going to be evidence now:
    https://apnews.com/70bc353a644f45438c688fbfc7065449

"Grand jury proceedings and records in New York are secret. If Vance gains access to Trump’s returns through a grand jury investigation, that doesn’t mean that their contents will be disclosed publicly."

Hell of a casual statement to throw out on Twitter on a Monday morning. No doubt using his great and unmatched wisdom to deflect attention away from his tax returns by threatening to destroy and obliterate the economy of another country.

    OH BUT HE'S JOKING.

I mean he may well be, because that was such a patently outrageous statement I checked it was the verified Twitter account. There's where the Presidency has dropped. And as I always say, WE'RE the deranged ones for tracking this nonsense.

So then Trump Whisperers: when has he destroyed Turkey's economy "before?".

This thread feels so entirely redundant at this stage, and unbecoming of this forum. You can't debate a man this demonstrably nonsensical in his utterances, it's like Art Critics reviewing kindergarten hand painting.
