    It's for deliveries,
Except even the post office uses does not use it for either letter or parcel deliveries. And many couriers boycott it too, because it is not free like in most countries.

Like wise - no connection. It works very well and delivers on what it was supposed to do. Why there's a nark over An Post not needing it is incomprehensible. Money well spent.

Couriers are happy with it and recipients of goods are happy.

ignorance is bliss, you're paying way over the odds for an inflexible largely incompatible propitiatory system, that is merely a simple delivery location code the rest of the world have had for generations.

From what I'm reading Eircode is more flexible than the generations old systems. They have to change whole postcode areas to cope with population changes, and even from the start they did not assign individual codes to individual addresses.

    What's it incompatible with?

    What's it incompatible with?

    Braille. And Klingon.
