The TV director is more interested in replays than the live action.

    Some try!

Circumstances aside, losing Jackson has been huge for Ulster, Burns just isn't at the same level.

Not at Jackson's level but getting better and doing well now

    Hopefully Henderson is ok here

Coetzee has been immense so far.

    Clever lineout

  • Administrators Posts: 54,417 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

    Have a bit of that.

Ulster eating them up so far.

Baloucoune is such a great defender in that sort of situation. I am fully prepared to campaign for him to be called up to Ireland in the same way Connacht fans did for Healy and O'Halloran

Am I alone in thinking the ref was in a terrible position for the play where the Connacht hooker was held up? There was all sorts of infringement going on there, not sure why he was behind the ruck over the try line - rely on TMO if its grounding you're worrying about.

Nonetheless some super defence by Ulster there, they're good for the 8 point lead so far.

His positioning is quite unusual generally, often getting in the way.

Connacht’s ruck protection has been very poor. Allowed some very basic turnovers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,201 ✭✭✭troyzer

Looks like Bundee threw a punch.

  • Administrators Posts: 54,417 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

    Just a pen for me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,551 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Burns was ducking and turning. Just a pen I think.

  • Administrators Posts: 54,417 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

Is the sound messy for anyone else?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

I’d think yellow. No issue with a pen

Sounds like there's another station using the same frequency sometimes right? Or a weird almost dubbing effect

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,260 ✭✭✭OldRio

    Nothing wrong with that.

Just about barely a penalty at most.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,478 ✭✭✭launish116

Never a yellow, only a penalty. Dominant tackle on Burns as he was falling.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,477 ✭✭✭Wegians89

Feel it’s a harsh penalty at that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,498 ✭✭✭✭cson

Penalty is about right there given the focus on player welfare, its certainly no Owen Farrell NFL attempt though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

Feel it’s unlucky but not necessarily harsh if that makes sense

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,902 ✭✭✭✭mfceiling

    Viz Top Tips

Pretend you're an Ulster player by deliberately fcuking up every single line out you receive.

Agreed. The one eyed commentator is embarrassing suggesting the citing commissioner will be involved.

Been a good watch this. Ulster playing well and in apparent control but Connacht look so dangerous on loose ball. Cartys passing has been brilliant

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,876 ✭✭✭✭bilston

I'd say you're all being a bit generous to Bundee. He hit Burns on the chin with his shoulder, which is part of the head.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,011 ✭✭✭mjp

Who are the two Ulster lads on commentary. Surely eir could have got someone neutral in or even balance it with someone from connacht. It's embarrassing listening to it when you consider it's two Irish teams playing

Looked to me like Burns saw Aki late, that he was in the crosshairs for a big hit and ducked his head, not sure what Aki could do in the situation.

I think its a YC at least. He shouldered a guy in the head.

Look at Cipriani red in October and subsequent ban

Mark Robson would be in grevious danger if an ex Connacht player was in the commentary box with him.

    He is PAINFUL!

Is he the only commentary option available to eir or had they their A team in thomond

Connacht are just a bit flat today and I think it's stemming from marmion being a little off match pace

Connacht. Ruck protection. Non existant today.

Burns first season, has moved to a new country etc etc

Hardly fair to judge him yet. Will see how he gets on next season

Hendersons pivot in contact is great for making ground.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,902 ✭✭✭✭mfceiling

Between knock ons, missed tackles, hospital passes and a sh*t show of a line out well Ulster look like they're back to their old habits.

Seems like an awful nasty atmosphere at Ravenhill. Seems like the soccer crowd are going to all our games (including my own crowd Munster)

Can you not be a soccer fan and a rugby one? Ridiculous comment.
