Did not mean to come off like that, but we have posters on her pushing ADA, a joke with no one developing on the platform, all we hear is everything is coming soon, and has been for years, its going to dump hard.
Meanwhile LINK is rubbished, it will soon become apparent it is the gold standard in crypto, it will 10x the day Arbitrum is launched and when staking is launched its going to take all the money from other crypto.
You must hate money if you don't hold LINK

ok ok we get it Link will 10x the day Arbitrum is launched

Just because I didnt mention Link in my original post, doesnt mean I dont like it or have any

Who's rubbishing Link? and what do you mean by referring it to the gold standard?

The PCR test is the gold standard for testing for CV19, but we all know how much bs thats based on

Possibly, if bitcoin goes up it’ll likely go up a little bit too.

2 Canadian BTC ETFs launched in the past couple of days and there is a third one incoming: https://finance.yahoo.com/news/ci-global-files-issue-north-173623525.html

At some point the SEC will have a hard time explaining why Canada is OK with approving that many, and it is a no-go in the US.

Why is everyone wishing for an ETF to be approved? It'll only make it more possible for big institutions to manipulate (and eventually suppress) the price of BTC.

    Orange pilled.

It isn’t really a matter of wishing for it or not. It is just a logical step which is likely coming eventually (in the US).

Probably not something anyone in here will use but it is significant as it will make BTC more institutionalised and super easy to access for anyone involved in financial markets (it has became easy enough already, but not ETF-easy).

Agree with you there are downsides (although I think future contracts a might be more relevant when it comes to price manipulation concerns).

But there are also upsides, and I think one of them is that if/when the SEC approves a BTC ETF and retail and institutional players alike start buying it, it will become *very* hard to push the narrative that governments are going to ban Bitcoin trade or ownership (it has became pretty hard already, but it isn’t gone yet and I think the SEC’s blessing for an ETF would put those concerns at rest).

It's all stepping stones. There are ETFs for everything else - so it's just a question of when for bitcoin. As ownership of btc expands, it becomes increasingly more difficult for governments to take a hard line against it. That increasingly becomes politically unpopular.

In the meantime, bitcoin needs to get more user friendly. There's work being done on that but development is slow. However, once self custody is both easy and idiot proof, then a greater percentage of it can still remain in the direct hands of regular people. That's not really practical for gold by comparison - resulting in the gold market being centralised and manipulated.

(EDIT - I should have read Bob24's post fully and there would have been no need for me to post!).

Bought both of these ETFs during the week. I already own BTC but we can't hold crypto in tax-free accounts in Canada, whereas ETFs are fine, so this is a great way around that

Quick tip: Crypto.com just announced that they will be burning A LOT of their tokens today (I am still wondering if I am fully awake, but it looks like almost 60% of supply). Never really saw CRO as an investment opportunity but there might be something to play here.

Like clockwork. Every Monday I think, why didn't I sell my positions Friday pm and open them again Monday early am.

I'll do it this weekend. And no doubt the trend will reverse and I'll miss out on glorious gains.

In the context trading the news though, is it relevant whether the trigger for the price increase is a artificial or due to fundamentals?

Long term is different. But having said that they used to control circa 70% of supply in locked wallets so circulating supply was a fraction of total supply. Once they are fully done, those 70% will be gone and 100% of supply will be circulating.

Is this kind of stuff akin to market manipulation? To some extend I’d say yes (and if it was regulated by an authority like the SEC it would quite possibly be illegal).

But it is a single shot rifle which greatly reduces CDC’s influence once fired, and I would also argue that once it is done the ecosystem will look much healthier.

It's all part of their decentralisation strategy. Burning coins is no different to stock buy backs.

It's after dropping 10% after a 1000% increase in 11 months. How will we ever cope?

Glad to finally see some red though, those never-ending green days had me worried.

As I said previously, you get people moaning about missing the boat, others hoping for a pullback so they can buy in big .... but when it actually happens, the fear is palpable and suddenly everyon is running around like chicken little warning the sky is falling.

It takes guts to catch a falling knife.

I wonder what will happen when the yanks wake up? Wiil they pile in or will cluck.
