The rising short term volumes imo must be mostly buyers.... with shorts resisting but..... looking forward either way to checking in the morning

What exchanges support automated weekly buys? Iv been trying to sign up to crypto.com since August but they can’t verify my account and support is useless. Currently getting robbed in coinbase fees.

Nice to breach $16,000 this morning albeit briefly. Little to no sell pressure above us so I can't help but see the bull trend continuing in the short term.

That was almost a bearish engulfing candle on the hourly after that wick above 16k
    Need to hold 15750

I have a weekly bitcoin purchase through coinbase. I use kraken for everything else.

Ah, ok, so it's the automation you are most interested in. I was going to suggest Belgiacoin for low fees, but they are very manual.

Ya, I don’t trade that much so happy to set orders in kraken to buy the dip. I’m prone to indecision with my DCA buys, if I didn’t have the reoccurring purchase I probably would not have bought anything in the last 5 weeks and missed those gains. Having said that, I can only buy through my debit card so there is a 3.99% fee. I would much prefer if I could just do a bank transfer and set up a reoccurring buy from euro or even USDT

after setting up my swipe card, the first lodgment of fiat took 7 days to clear
now that its cleared, the 2nd lodgment was instant

Handy if I want to make on the spot purchases but for now I'm just using it as a debit card

made a few fiat purchases this morning with the money transferred over and have got my 1% BTC rewards already allocated

ok the BTC levels are as follows
    $16175
    $16600
    $17150

once it takes out these 3, its pretty much plain sailing to 19k

How do you load it up, do you need to transfer coins from other wallets and exchanges?

yes thats one way of doing it and then you select the crypto you want to use to fund the payment from the drop down menu

at the moment I have very little crypto on it, I have linked my current account to it using the 16 digit code from my debit card

Select EUR as the default currency for the swipe card and then go into the EUR wallet and select deposit
Pick the current account debit card from the drop down and input your amount

I did a test transfer last week of a small amount and it took 7 days to clear, was at tesco & lidl earlier and bought a few bits
Had to use the pin for the first transaction but tap after that

when I got home I did another transfer thinking it would take 7 days again but it cleared immediately

The 1% cash back in BTC was on it within a couple of min of the transactions being made

So BTC seems to be holding $16000 for now ... I still think we are due for a temporary pullback, but I’m not that sure anymore!

They're away sharpening their blades (the butcher :-D ) and practicing their haters gonna hate patter in preparation for the next crypto winter.

By all accounts, professional traders are supposed to know what point they're getting out at - from the very outset. I understand the logic - but I find it hard to implement. I also wonder if crypto falls foul of those rules given that in a given year, the major gains in btc are made on only a handful of days. Between that and it not caring for tech analysis resistance levels and indicators when it gets into that full on bullish mode.

It might pullback to 13k but not expecting it to drop below those levels anymore

Agree, it is entertaining to discuss price action but for 99% of people (at least individuals) who want to hold BTC I think holdling and DCA are the best strategy.

Never say never, but yeah I think more than 25% pullback it rather unlikely. Except maybe if we are getting another round of markets wide sell-offs due to pandemic-panic like in March, but it would be short-lived because many wouldn’t pass on the opportunity to accumulate with low prices.

From memory there were two 30% pullbacks in the last bull run, so always be ready to stack some more. We’re in new territory now where dips wouldn’t upset me at all.

Can’t help but feel it wants $17,000 shortly.

Myself and the missus had our first serious chat on this topic last night. Felt weird, as what was once a dream is now on the horizon as a definite possibility if things keep going this way. Going to consult a friend who is an accountant shortly, they're also actually the only other person I know in the real world who owns BTC. Exciting times.

Currently thinking a 3/4 year career break / holiday in Portugal.

    why 3/4 years?

I think we could see 13900 again
Maybe as soon as next week

Enough time to have a kid or two and I don’t think I’d want to be there indefinitely, for now anyway. Also means spending the next halving and subsequent bull run beginning there

Just in time for payday would be ideal

Lets see ... gut feeling tells me a correction is due but anything is possible.

Also Paypal just turned on the switch for all their US users to purchase crypto. Wondering how much of additional demand this might bring (i.e. is it "just" a symbolic piece of news telling us crypto is going mainstream, or does it have a short term material impact on demand?).

See section 9.4 of this document which is probably the driver for him planning on 3 years minimum: https://www2.deloitte.com/content/dam/Deloitte/ie/Documents/Tax/ie-tax-ges-moving-abroad-guide.pdf

    The key part is:
    Deloitte wrote:
where an individual leaves Ireland following a period of residence they may continue to be ordinarily resident in Ireland for a period of three years following the year of departure. Irish-domiciled individuals will continue to be liable to Irish capital gains tax on their worldwide gains for this period of ordinary residence

Completely unfair and abusive IMO, but that is the way it seems to be.

Also, it looks like there is no clear legal definition of how you become "domiciled" (except by the virtue of being born in Ireland). So I think someone who is not originally from Ireland, lives here for a couple of years, and then leaves the country will not necessarily have this 3 years issue - but it is a bit foggy to me and probably a discussion for a thread on a legal or taxation forum.
