O'Leary is in Mayo at the moment according to his social media. I wonder has he been invited to the meeting? The last letter sent by the financial auditors makes for interesting reading

    Never put the 2 together.

Who thought that was a good idea.

It makes it look like they are not taking this serious. They need to cop the hell on and stop acting the clown. Its unbelievable that someone thought this would be a good idea when the media eyes are on them. Such a bunch of amateurs in every sense.

Please tell me the 2 separate letters in reply are rubbish. It's hardly tackles any of the issues at all.

This is hardly a stick to beat the entire board with, it would have been an individual that made these calls, hardly ratified by a full co board meeting, ok so doesnt look good etc but lets be real here

Why have another meeting with no media. That sounds like you have something to hide. Or else your going to bad mouth your enemy. Any bet no minutes will taken on Monday.

But the incompetency seems to be widespread across the CB, that's the problem. The way that they've handled O'Leary is embarrassing.

Mayo GAA issued the apology so in essence whether its one person or ten it makes no odds as this is looked to be done under the Mayo GAA entity. The members need to understand that they are standing for Mayo GAA and all must behave with dignity and respect towards people who give a lot towards supporting Mayo GAA.

It's also the optics of this with all the stuff going on. It makes the whole issue worse.

Who are we expecting/hoping to win a gong tonight? Durcan, Boyle maybe?

Paddy has to be a banker based on the three games where he keep his man scoreless.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,026 ✭✭✭✭Fr Tod Umptious

    And Paddy it is.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,286 ✭✭✭seligehgit

Realistically with all the competition Paddy was the only certainty.

Brian Howard got an all star in the half back, well deserved but some rejigging.

Boyler was arguably our player of the championship and Aidan our player of the year.

Fair play to Chris Barrett for getting the nomination.

I suppose normally one all star for a losing semi-finalist would be a bit disappointing but when you have a drawn final the two finalists tend to dominate every 'team of the year'...

Elverys will no longer be sponsors of all the Mayo ladies teams.

The comparison was silly. Walsh could be argued as the worst of those three and Mayo sacrificed their best player on Saturday to follow him everywhere. If Walsh jumped into the first row of concrete benches around the edge, Keegan would've hopped in beside him. Hardly conductive to getting easy space and ball

Paddy Durcan getting an All Star is a joke played 3 games, far more deserving players who played all championship games namely a certain Meath man in the same position, and this comes from an Ulster man

Not at all, he was injured for a couple of games, comfortably dominated his opponent in each of his games including Jack McCaffrey. Thought his All Star was nailed on , once he was nominated.

He played 7 games actually and was excellent in each one.

I think you need to check your facts. He played far in excess of 3 games in the championship,6 games in total.

His injury occurred at the death of the Galway game.So he subsequently missed 2 games in total ( Kerry and Meath )

He scored 2 points against Roscommon
    1 point against Down
    3 points against Donegal
    2 points against Dublin

Not bad for a half back.

Perhaps this article might give you a slightly more enlightened opinion on Paddy's defensive qualities too but somehow I doubt it given your jibe at Mayo on the All Stars thread.

Did you not get enough attention from this same post you already put in the all stars thread so thought you'd take it here? Enjoy the long winter being bitter over Mayo's only all star this year.
