I had filled up my tank just before the fuel dropped a few weeks ago. Filled up the other day and now price is dropping again. Not using the car much these, so 1 fill a month or 2, but still!! I'm cursed for fuel savings!

Has this kicked in yet or will I have to wait for tomorrow?

Standing outside Circle K, 137.9 I'll nurse it onto Tesco where it's 128.

Is it all fuel or just the over priced miles plus.

Claims it gets you an extra 4% distance but the prices is over 5% dearer !!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,584 ✭✭✭✭Creamy Goodness

Ah this explains why they bumped their prices in the last month or so.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,051 ✭✭✭masterboy123

    From tomorrow only.

I use AA discount code which knocks off another 4 cents per litre.

To be fair a 50 litre tank at 7c per litre is only a saving of €3.50.

They're solid robbed from it below in Venezuela, beyond 10 euro a tonne now

What's the average price a litre in Dublin now?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,479 ✭✭✭✭bazz26

The only participating filling station in Limerick according to the list, is currently one of the most expensive for fuel in the city, lol.

I gather making the fancier claimed stuff the same price as the regular stuff is in the hope that people continue to use it once it goes back up to its regular price.

car drives just fine with a 'normal' petrol fuel.
They're always going to be people who think their (expensive) car deserves 'special' fuel and be willing to pay extra for it.
As i read in the paper article : << milesPLUS is our new advanced premium fuel that has a higher concentration of additive delivering more power & acceleration for a superior driving experience>>
More power & acceleration ? for city driving ? staying in Q in the morning rush hour ? In an area where City Council puts a 30km/h limit? What world are you living in ? Extra money for additives is just a tax on snobbery imho. Would you advertise : 'filled only with premium petrol' when you want to sell your car, for better value? i thought so....

If I could get 98ron here I'd pay for it.

@BrownFinger : octane booster is what you're after : comes in 350-440ml for a normal 50-60L tank ; some of the cheap ones are using other tricks to deliver more power boost . beside additives, they clean/erode the injectors heads to deliver more fuel , giving the impression of the power. Don't take my word for it. Do some fuel consumption calculation on your own ( not onboard pc numbers) - fill fullest to the petrol pump, do 600km and do a full fill at the pump again

I filled up about an hour ago.

A EUR3.50 saving sounds good to me.

Took the words out of my mouth, yet you'll have idiots driving out of their way and probably queuing at the pump to save a measly few cent.

And blowing it on over priced coffee and a danish. Circle K will be the winner here.

Usual bargain bashing has started I see

How can it be a bargain when even after discount it's more expensive than Apple green and Tesco on a normal day.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,544 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

It’s the same octane as normal petrol, and they claim the extra mileage might happen because your engine will be cleaner....

In my experience I got no extra Kms from the tank and no extra power.

Can you also add the additional 4c per litre off using the aa app?

I fill up at circle k every week with miles plus and my mpg is far better so 7 cent off is a bargain for me if it’s saving me a few quid, each to their own.

How much better is it? I use Top mostly as I pass it going to work and the price is usually within 1or2c of the cheapest in the area. I occasionally use Circle K which is a few cents more for diesel.

If I could get 98ron here I'd pay for it.

The E5 produced in Whitegate is 99.2RON already. "95" specified is a bare minimum, most fuel sold is higher.

At the moment there's a free hot drink with every 25ltrs purchased in circle k..........just saying.

Interesting, and not for this thread, but is there any way to check RON levels?

That's what I hope to do. Will give it a try but not sure.

So they’re reducing their prices to those of other filling stations?? That’s just great.

How many people will take the free drink pay for their 25ltrs + of fuel and walk out without buying anything else?

Your a marketeers wet dream, we'll give your 4% extra miles per tank but we'll charge your 8% more than the next place for the same tank.

Thanks OP- the car is running on fumes, haven't topped up in 3 weeks (and have a 90 litre tank)- will definitely top-up in the morning.
The free coffee and the treat- is the icing on the cake.

I fondly remember Shell here that had it, you could feel the difference between the 95

    Enjoy.

How do we get free coffee and other goodies? I go to circle K often but never knew about this deal.

And if you drive a typical car more than a mile out of your way for each penny you save on the per-gallon price, it doesn't matter how worthless your time is to you--the gas to get you there and back costs more than you save.

So 7cent of premium fuel, fill up with more than 25L and I get a free tea or coffee? And still people say there is no bargain, go away will you.

In our local Circle K the premium is 4c a litre more expensive than the regular. Prices are standardised with the local Applegreen. So this offer is 3c a litre off the standard price- which equals the local Applegreen price (this is Palmerstown eastbound). Its a great deal *if* you need fuel- as I do- its not such a great deal, if you're going to unusual lengths just to access the offer. It is my local and I do need fuel- so its a good deal for me. Someone who lives 10 miles away- would be nuts to divert out of their way just to get the deal.

I've an 8 year old 2 litre with a large 90ltr touring tank- that I habitually put 2 shots of Redex in a fill to keep it clean- its cheaper for me to use the Circle K premium- than it is to use Redex in the tank.

Just because this offer may not be such a good offer for you- doesn't mean its not for me........

One of my other cars gets less than 18MPG so requires lots of fill ups. The cheapest circle k is 2 minutes up the road (Kylemore) and I would normally use the miles plus. Any saving on that is good!

Discount is usually applied in the shop when you pay
Ah, I see. I'll be going past again, but tbh, 7 off 131 .9 is 124.9, no big deal unless you factor in the 4c improvement of the moremiles. Circle K in Coolmine is 125.5 on Pumps, but they're not doing the deal. Applegreen in Clonsilla 125.9, their juice is decent too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,584 ✭✭✭✭Creamy Goodness

Went past the one in Kilmacanogue, the plus unleaded is 1.379 same as regular so I assume they’re applying the discount.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 75 ✭✭Random Bloke

134.9 for more miles petrol in Ranelagh Road. Same price as standard unleaded petrol. I get a 2c discount with their charge card, and picked up a free hot chocolate for my son into the bargain, as I bought 40 litres.
I drive a plug in hybrid so use very little petrol, but happy to have this stuff in the tank.
    Thanks OP.

Got the MilesPlus diesel @127.9 in Drogheda along with the 4c reduction for AXA and a free coffee to boot.

134.9 for petrol in Clonshaugh, this is in or around same price as Tesco and Topaz on Malahide Road.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,019 ✭✭✭DopeTech

134.9 for both regular and plus petrol in all the topaz's I've passed today.

Filled up in Tesco at 132.9 yesterday so I'm not feeling too bad about missing this!

You don't need the app for the free coffee- I got a nice large Latte earlier. You just use your old Topaz card.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,051 ✭✭✭masterboy123

I don't have topaz card either. Could we get free coffee without topaz card or app?

I always free diesel for 65 euros every 10th day. Is it worth getting Circle K card?
