Another beautiful day in cork city. Blue skies and warm!

Edit: wind has now picked up which is cool enough lowering the warmth somewhat but in non windy areas still warm

Another overcast day in Tralee and quite muggy. You'd have to fear for the summer when you see this type of weather in late May.

    Based on what?

Seeing a lot of reports now about June and how its going to be so hot your face will probably melt off!

I never pay heed to social media weather reports as they are extreme weather bait but this seems to have legs.

Whats the weathery peoples view here?

Another horrible day in Letterkenny, drizzle finally stopped around midday only to be replaced by a cool showery afternoon with dark skies and a cold blustery wind. Thankfully off to the Med in a couple of weeks

Are we in a different climate in Cork or something? This week has been pleasant enough and the last few days have turned warm in the afternoons. Certainly we have had none of the conditions that some posters have been complaining about lately.

Blustery but warm in Dublin today after what was a relatively gloomy start. No rain. All good really.

Well it's finally become nice out in Dublin, a fair breeze but sunny.

    A summer like 2018??

Let's just say: Patience is a virtue for this Summer if they were to verify.

Based on lots and lots of previous summers where a pattern of overcast, mild but not warm and pretty much meh weather gets established into June and then just drags on.

Hopefully not this year, we'll always live in hope, especially after last year, but a few times bitten and all that!

not a very nice morning here at Dunshaughlin, have had several short, sharp showers, and feeling fairly cool.

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,996 ✭✭✭✭gozunda

Week starting considerably cooler than averages for last week. Currently @ 12c

Heavy showers now making some a small dint in soil moisture levels.

10.5 degrees and heavy showers at 10am all along the M8 this morning. Better now than at The Bank Holiday weekend but disappointing none the less. Could have been late October.

got caught out in another downpour about 30 minutes ago, rumble of thunder too. Already another shower starting here again. Very autumnal day with blustery conditions, bursts of rain and cool temperatures. Currently 12C.

Heavy showers all morning here, nice and warm in the sun, feels like winter in the showers

Rainfall for month now nearly 30mm as there has been 18mm since Friday. Ground still like a rock though.

    Sligo 28mm
Markree 44mm but Markree data does not include today. So gap still there.

It's been lashing rain here for the last hour or so. It had reached a high of 15.8C in the sunshine earlier. Now it's 11.6C. The rain doesn't seem to be easing off at all, just getting heavier.

Absolutely awful in Tralee and feeling really chilly. This is the type of "summer" weather that I absolutely hate and the worst day here in the south west in weeks.

several downpours today already, a horrible day, but I think the first week of May was still worse than this.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,677 ✭✭✭SleetAndSnow

Not awful yet in Cork City, just had our first shower of the day. Wind is fairly strong though. Cool and overcast

Forecast looks brutal for Dublin for the next while. No sign of summer yet. Although this is how I imagine typical Dublin/Irish summer weather. Blustery with the odd bit of sunshine and never really getting out of the mid teens. Easter Sunday/Monday was amazing, more of that please.
Bleurgh. It's the hope that kills you.

yep, unfortunately the first half of June doesn't look good, the first week in particular looks very cool and unsettled. Hopefully second half of June will see a serious improvement.

Just saw a flash and heard a few loud rumbles of thunder. This thundershower is the best I've seen in this country since November 2010 and it isn't even a particularly exciting one, November 2010 is probably the only one that I'll never forget.
