Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just turned over. Very low at times there as well. Usually so much clearer.

Fickou demonstrating reason 1.01 why putting a centre on the wing is a bad idea.

Doubt I'll watch this cake walk beyond the last half time

I remember the fanfare around Gael that ended up being hot air.

That can't happen. The slam winning team are given a clatter of BPs to ensure they win the championship

And that exact point was raised about a bazillion times last year

Messy breakdown there, great work by Parra.

I hope the weather can level the game and deny England a bonus at least.

England are the only team which still seem to value a good clearing kick from the backfield as opposed to the box.

And it's working for them. We need to start doing that as well.

    Big chance for France here.

Lineout straight out of Dolphin playbook.

    **** sake.

England's line speed is so impressive.

This will surely set some sort of record for kicks in a game

You never make a mistake? What a little clique of back slapping know it all's on here.

    Penaud looks classy.

Daly tackled Picamoles without the ball there right in front of Owens. Nothing serious but definite penalty.

Player without the ball was tackled?

England trying a Joe Schmidt special there

Horribly, horribly coached team. Running into their own players, taking each other out in the air.

That said - that early try has taken a bit of the impetus away from England. They have taken the foot off the gas a little bit and France are finding space.

Nooooo. It so 1960s. The box kick has more potential outcomes, and while some are negative relative to the clearing kick, overall, the balance is in the box kick's favour. It is quaint to see it though.

    Pfffft

It's all about their aggressive line speed

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,599 ✭✭✭ScrubsfanChris

They had it covered, and still messed up. Woeful tackle attempt

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,464 ✭✭✭✭lawred2

Awful attempt at a tackle there by the wing. Far too easily stepped

England had SO many options there. Billy V shouldn't have aimed for the post and he'd have been over.

Box kicks over and over again are being negated though. Defenses have found ways to nullify it. It needs to be part of a broader array of kicks.

In other news, France are ****e.

France do make it hard for themselves.

May is a good player but can't warm to him. Got some serious pace but think he's not got a great rugby brain

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,790 ✭✭✭✭Burkie1203

Mako could play outside centre for France.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,864 ✭✭✭✭mfceiling

England doing exactly what they did last week. Kick in behind and chase well. You try taking a ball off the deck 4 metres from your line with 3 chasers racing towards you.
No team will win a game by playing most of their rugby in their own 22.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

Bastareaud got dominated in the buildup to that try. If he's not going to be a physical menace then he becomes a passenger out there.

Being an international peace keeper is fairly distracting to be fair.

Agreed, I've never understood how the box kick can be an advantage to a team in possession

    Para bailar la bamba.

It's an instructional song about how to do a particular dance. More interesting than the game anyway.

Penaud looks good, despite that. Chip of the old block, his father being, what the boxing community would term 'classy'.

Farrell could have had a beer before putting up that kick on halfway. No pressure at all. Had time to reset himself and adjust the ball before launching it and still no blue jersey in his face.

It is his face for me. Just not a likeable face for some reason. Petty of me really. My opinion of him has nothing to do with rugby

Do they have a mercy rule in test rugby?

France all over the shop. May is far to quick for them.

Nice of France to offer them a training game ahead of Cardiff.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

What on earth was Huget at?

England are very good though and deserve credit. Their decision making and execution is brilliant.
