    Swap France for Georgia.

heard somewhere the point that France have never been professional at national level since the sport went professional.

they were ok in the "semi-pro" era of the first 10 to 15 years of professionalism but have been badly exposed since then.

French "flair" might have worked in the past but now it's just a byword for no structure or game plan.

they might win the odd game against a good side here or there but less and less likely - need to sort themselves out.

French rugby is in a sorry sorry state. Given the resources and budgets they have, it’s nothing short of a disgrace.

    Yea.

I don't think Ireland would put 30 points on this France team by half time. England have been excellent.

It's official, England finally have a cohesive team and France are actually awful.

They are no doubt. Looking like they're really hitting form in WC year.

England are 31 point favourites on Paddy power now. That's a great line to take right now.

    France 100/1 to come back.

The championship does not have much of a draw for the remaining weekends after only 2 weekends played based on what we've seen from 5 of the countries.

England won’t win a World Cup. Their performances are look far better cause we have been so poor.

We were a smidge below our best. England are just better. Serious WC contenders.

Despite that they should have won the WC 2011 and have made the final three times. They should be top 5 every year.

The sophistication of French coaching seems 10 or more years behind the times. Almost everyone has moved beyond them. Its only that they still have a serious pool of talent that they are sustaining any sort of level. Player development hasnt moved on much either, but thats back to the low level of coaching.
They need to hire a few New Zealanders for about 10 years for root and branch change in French rugby knowhow.

the usual problem is that they have so many decent players but don't know how to create a team.

Marengo and lbc2019 we've had enough of your petty sniping. Neither of you are to post on this thread again.

Penaud knows how to sprint right? He looks knackered... Two minutes into the second half.

Terrible from France, no doubt in my mind they will turn up against us and it will be a different type of game.
Depressing we are not where we thought we were and the inverse for England.

Only now remembering England were hot pre-Tournament favs last year.

Hopefully this is our blip period and we are more on point for the World Cup because we’ll be exiting at the 1/4 final stage as per usual the way things are right now

yeah - they have never had a foreign coach at national level afaicr?

stupid French pride - get over it.

Demon creature playing openside for England at the moment.

England just playing for the craic now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,199 ✭✭✭troyzer

France doesn't even know which back is playing where.

Brunel needs to be proverbially ****ing lynched for allowing this.

France need a Michael Cheika or Joe Schmidt to install a cultural change.

That’s a very generous penalty try IMO

Was just reading there that the FFR have strict rules on players having French passports and they have next to no players that are resident qualified.

Can't imagine they'd hire a foreign coach with that mindset!

Incidentally, you could argue that every other them benefited from the 3 year rule and have made their teams better, while France have gone backwords :o

Don't think he would have scored. Ball bounced behind to the left of them

That’s a rubbish decision from Owens

Dunno, even if he caught it with his knee or foot it likely would have been scored.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,199 ✭✭✭troyzer

The only real positive outcome now could be a ridiculous, 80+ point England win and all of the arrogance and complacency that comes with it.

Ashton had over-run that ball. There is no way in hell he was going to pick it up and score either way.
