Ugh. I think I have image retention on my monitor after playing Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Pretty worried, turned off the monitor and will leave it off for some time

    Any advice?

IPS I honestly thought it was going to be OLED. I have a OLED Tv as my monitor and do not have burn in.

I have no idea what you can do regarding the problem but that was wise to turn it off.

I'm not sure of the game you were playing is it one of those games where there is a a large portion of a image that is static while you play like menus and stuff?

Whats the Amazon Germany return window for GPUs? Recieving my 7900xtx Friday and if 9070xt reviews release within the window and are good I might be cheeky and send it back. Something tells me there will be no point (performance/price) but good to know my options either way.

Edit: 30 day return if doesn't meet expectations, perfect, we should hopefully know more on the 9070xt before march release

Any one have any experience renting a virtual private server for a month or so? Just something I'm working on in my own time that might need a chunk more than the 64Gb of ram in my desktop. Anyone done it before? They start off cheap enough for the low end, but looking at hetzner maybe ~200 for a month for 512gb ram with an epyc cpu

Been using this site recently to move some services over to European ones. The are not ordered alphabetically but appear to be by market size. They have page on all the VPS providers in Europe.

    https://european-alternatives.eu/category/vps-virtual-private-server-hosters

But to answer your question Hetzer is the leader here but I'd shop around as you know what you really want here (hour or month pricing, how many cores, storage, bandwidth etc.). Might at least get the best value for your money. But €200-300 isn't wild by any means.

Cheers for that, I'll have a look through at different options. If there are hourly or daily rates available they might be an option!

Guys, anyone recommend a third party Apple laptop repair shop.

Background: Have a M1 Macbook that is 2 and half years old (6 months beyond Applecare) and the display is acting up. Goes from partially corrupt image to fine and back again. Looks to me as a loose/worn ribbon cable as the output to a external monitor works fine. Apple are saying its €550 to repair which is basically replacing the full display assembly. I do it myself but my wife is not comfortable with me doing it. So hear I am :)

    edit I’m in Dublin.

Coming here to say almost the same thing. I assume they are keeping sales low deliberatly to see how much they have to scale up. Can't think of any other reason.

Their sourcing model already integrated all their warehouses anyway. It's just as likely that something you order from .co.uk comes from Germany or Ireland as it does from a UK warehouse.

True but now that it's actually in country the SLAs change a little and that will take time to measure and scale up. I don't for a second think that they are not prepared to creep in on Tesco/Dunnes market share for example.

Good video on price-to-performance in the real world.

Instant regret moving my amazon prime to Ireland anyways. Looking to make a build for a friend, half of the parts I am interested in don't appear in search, yet they are availiable on co.uk/.de/.fr

Makes me wonder if this is some sort of soft launch?

Tried buying herself a pair of slippers, Amazon Ireland delivery was over a week away and 6 euro more than UK which will be delivered in 2 days, can't see it being all that successful if everything is like that

    Im absolute shocked

I bought the Razer DeathAdder V2 Pro (wireless version) back in 2021 for £64.99

It's showing wear and tear so decided to get another one

    You're looking at over £133

How the **** has it gone to that price

I'm really not sure can I justify that price for a mouse

Seems like everything is just gone mad doesn't it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,298 ✭✭✭✭dulpit

You can still buy from the other sites though, and any non UK site wouldn't have had any prime benefits for you anyway?

    DeathAdder V2 Pro was a 130-eurobucks release.

In addition, it is also EOL since being replaced by DeathAdder V3 lineup, 2 years ago.

    DeathAdder V3 HyperSpeed is 100eur.

Razer Viper V3 HyperSpeed is ~70 eur.

You can still find the old, slightly heavier, battery-operated DeathAdder V2 X is 82eur.

And there are literally DOZENS if not HUNDREDS of budget options available.

selling, up for 700, let go for 600 a fair price?

Going for a new build for around for around 1800. PC has served me well For over three years. Only reason I went prebuilt was card shortage during Covid and cost me 1200 which was good for the time.

    Legion T5 PC, specs below.

    3060TI

    Amd 5800 non x version

    2*8 GB DDR4

    512GB NVME.

General rule of thumb is look at the price you'd get for the CPU and GPU at CEX and add another €150-200 for the remaining parts. Case is give or take €50, PSU is give or take €50, RAM is give or take €10 per 8Gb and storage is give or take €20. Everything else is of debatable value. So, in the €650 to €750 range. Lash it up for €800 but be fully prepared to do a deal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 537 ✭✭✭Coyler

Put it up for €500 and take anything north of €400.

Lads am I imagining it or do Overclockers deliver to Ireland? Just browsing their site for a monitor and see they have RoI available as a delivery option, but I could have sworn they stopped shipping here...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,649 ✭✭✭bennyx_o

I think a few on here got 9070XTs from them so they seem to be back delivering here

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,967 ✭✭✭✭K.O.Kiki

OCUK & Scan both ship here, AFAIK it's also VAT-free but you'll get taxed at delivery.
