Brady was trash on those last four attempts.

It would have been robbery (or a tie at least); fully deserved win for Pitt.
TD on opening drive, then pens all night.
Pats away from Gillette, all their loses. Not good when you drop out of the top 2 seeds.

How to not win a game - Patriots

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,510 ✭✭✭Hazys

Defense did well considering they were on the field for 80% of the game.

Pats Offense (especially the oline with the penalties) were garbage

At least two poor passes but he went from needing 5 yards to 15.

You nearly feel sorry for him surrounded by ineptitude tonight.

    Ah now, you wouldn't.

I enjoyed that after our complete omnishambles last night.

That being said, Pittsburgh should've been long home and hosed.

11-5 has won a superbowl for the Patriots before, so you know, not all doom and gloom :D

In all seriousness though, in a strange turn of events I'll be cheering on the Eagles next week against the Texans.

Maybe I should have pre-eminent that with "as a Patriots fan" ;)
    Easy target for everyone else.

    A terrible affliction I bet. :)

First Steelers INT in 220 passses or so, first against Brady since 2005. Keeps the season going in the unlikeliest of circumstances...well perhaps not as unlikely as winning next week at the Saints.

Must beat the Bengals and hope the Chargers beat the Ravens.

Right lets bloody go the Eagles.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,776 ✭✭✭Big Pussy Bonpensiero

Wow so the Eagles have a very real chance of making the playoffs. Win out and all they need is either the Hawks or Vikes to drop a game (from what I can see anyway). What a crazy NFL season. So many teams seemingly gone to sh1t still in with a realistic chance of making the playoffs.

Edit: Thought the first tie-break regardless was divisional record, but that only applies to teams level within the division. Eagles and Hawks obviously aren't in the same division so it goes to conference record, which the Hawks have the tie break.
So a little less likely for the Eagles but very possible all the same.

That loss to the bloody Giants is going to come back and bite us in the arse now with the Rams losing last night. Is he started Trubisky we'd have the same record and have the tiebreaker over them because we beat them last week.

People said that loss would come back to haunt us and it looks like it will.

Every team has a ‘defeat that will come back to haunt them’ though so it probably all balances out in the end.

True, but most are based on little things that happen within a game and that is just football. Before the Giants game everyone was screaming to start Trubisky because he was healthy but Nagy was cocky and went with Daniel again to let Trubisky rest another week. It was a loss that was completely avoidable with one simple pre-game decision.

Redzone’s going to be pretty much Pats/Steelers isn’t it? Can’t see there being much suspense in the Seahawks/49ers game.

    :D

****ty thing to do but I only ever read these threads back the next day.

About 30 seconds after I posted that, the 49ers returned a ko for a touchdown. I’ve never been so wrong so quickly.

I really enjoyed the late window red zone last night. Two or three games is ideal. I get a sore head trying to follow 9 or 10 games in the 6pm window.

The games in San Francisco and in Pittsburgh were very competitive, which helped.

Good game last night. Saints essentially have the #1 seed locked up, they only need 1 win from their remaining 2 home games to do so, although both are against good opposition.
Panthers are essentially out of playoff contention. It would now take nothing short of a miracle for them to steal a wildcard spot.

Carolina will be seething. Critical errors killed them, they should have won.

Newton is too temperamental. I think one of the comms mentioned "Good Cam and Bad Cam", that's exactly what it's like watching him. The showboating act is just about tolerable when you're delivering consistently, but he's far from that.

Saints D got them out of jail here, it was close and they probably shouldn't have won it. Can they get the offense working well enough again to have a serious run at the Superbowl?

The saints will be hard to beat in the dome but there offense is lacking depth ,outside of Michael Thomas there receiving corps is very thin.I think the bears would have a good shot of beating them tbh the saints O line is a bit banged up and that bears front 7 will cause havoc.

Bears have to be one of the favourites to march to the sb as much as that hurts me to say. Prob chargers sneakily too

9-7 this week which I'm happen with as a few games I went against grain on and they came off for me.
