They are a real nice car to drive . I dont get the fast and furious reference. That car is as it left the factory by the looks of it.

Are you looking at the wrong car ? Honest question.

That Clio looks in great condition. (Although priced in la la land)

No fast and the furious vibes off it at all.

That's exactly as they were build. Relly cool little yoke to drive.

It looks lovely and I'd love to have one in the garage as a toy but not at that money

Half the price woukd be around right but they are a great little car and plenty of fun to throw about. I do prefer the phase 1

Recently? I thought they would be making a lot more than that but wouldn't be too in tune with the price of them. The only other fast Clio I see on Donedeal of that phase model is a 2003 172 Cup in Antrim asking £8,950 STG.

Bought it privately, my mate bought a black one 2 years ago for 2.5k from a dealer though.

edit - i know this is england, but anything more than 3k is dreamer money in my opinion

    It’s up since yesterday!

Looks like it would be snapped up, seat belts look a bit loose and there are a few bits to tidy up, but you could make a really nice car out of it.

I remember Mad Mike of this parish had an absolute mint Cinq sporting in red with 15k miles for about the same money as that silver one a few years ago.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,096 ✭✭✭W123-80's

Even if mileage is legit I can't see how this is worth any more than half the asking.
Could be wrong, horses for courses etc

Nearly 30 so chape tax shortly.....

I'd say worth it or very close to be fair.

I hate when sellers say taxed to February when it expires in January.. A lot can happen in 4 years before she gets to the magic 30th birthday. Was the 1.8 UK only? I thought Irish ones were either 1.6 or 2 litre.

I think the Carina price is sensible enough, no? Wouldn't be a terrible buy for €2k if you are into that kind of thing.

Ya, to be honest, as I said in my original post it's probably a horses for courses scenario.
Having thought about it, its splitting hairs or in the case of this car, hundreds, as opposed to thousands.
I suppose, in hindsight, if it checks out from a mileage perspective, someone has suitable storage and the horn for a tidy Carina its not the worst buy!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that!

I was thinking pretty much the same. Love it, hate it or indifferent it would surely command a good wedge of that asking price. Its seems pretty basic for a UK import Carina and a looks to have a few battle scars. The Mark 1 Avensis rims are hardly period but it is a 90's Toyota that ain't insanely off vintage tax, whether you agree with the whole craze or not. It shouldn't be making the thread in my opinion.

€12,345, €1,234, €123 etc seems to be the random default price that is input on Donedeal when the seller is trying to be coy and secretive about it all. You would see that using these prices seems to be rife for those selling agricultural tractors and machinery and plant.

I would think again in this case its not the actual price of the car but guessing you are right in that he does want too much for it, just testing the water blah blah blah

Edit: After seen davycc's post maybe €2.5k is a more reasonable asking price? Isn't? Seller would fair better to input his correct asking price alright though....its all a bit stupid if he's a serious seller.
