I guess even Meatloaf had to draw a line somewhere

It would get lost for one thing!

Regarding that song though, it's not confusing at all - the structure of the song lists lots of things he'll never do, or never say and then says "I'd do anything for love, but I won't do that". THAT being what he just referenced.

    For example:
I'll never forget the way you feel right now
    - I'd do anything for love, but not that.

    Or:
I'd never lie to you and that's a fact
    etc.

Actually quite a sweet song and I love the female part near the end, kill for that girls' voice!

It might have been mentioned here already but Phil Lynnott's rhyming of "Poor Romeo" being "all on his own-eo" is pretty bad

    Jeez what a criminal lyric.

Shake your body, don't stop, don't miss
All you ladies pop yo' p**** like this
Shake your body, don't stop, don't miss
Just do it, do it, do it, do it, do it now

    Lick it good
Suck this p**** just like you should

Big Girls Don't Cry - Fergie
So much wrong with one song but what I have highlighted what does my head in. It's just so stupid.

Like the little school mate in the school yard
We'll play jacks and Uno cards
I'll be your best friend, and you'll be mine
    Valentine
Yes, you can hold my hand if you want to
'Cause I want to hold yours too
We'll be playmates and lovers, and share our secret worlds
But it's time for me to go home
It's getting late and dark outside
I need to be with myself and center
    Clarity, peace, serenity

I hope you know, I hope you know
That this has nothing to do with you
    It's personal, myself and I
We've got some straightenin' out to do
And I'm gonna miss you like a child misses their blanket
But I've got to get a move on with my life
It's time to be a big girl now
    And big girls don't cry

It's all to do with the female part near the end:

Will you raise me up? will you help me down?
Will you get me right out of this godforsaken town?
Will you make it all a little less cold?

    I can do that
    I can do that

Will you cater to every fantasy I got?
Will you hose me down with holy water, if I get too hot?
Will you take me places I've never known?

    I can do that
Oh no, I can do that

I know the territory, I've been around
It'll all turn to dust and we'll all fall down
Sooner or later you'll be screwing around

    I won't do that
    No, I won't do that

    Anything for love
    But I won't do that

I haven't changed my mind though - Steinman's lyrics are generally rather ****e!

Although those songs are still something I listen to as a guilty pleasure occasionally and they're sill a level above the feckin lullaby's regularly released nowadays

True, but Phil could have sang the phone-book and it would still sound incredible :)

Just one of the many old blues lyrics Led Zep "borrowed" in the earlier days

This isn't one though : If there's a bustle in your hedgerow, don't be alarmed now, it's just a spring clean for the May queen

Anything by Sabaton. The whole cheesy war porn narrative in just about any of their songs is cringe inducing

In the jungle, the mighty jungle
    The lion sleeps tonight
In the jungle the quiet jungle
    The lion sleeps tonight

Lions hunt at night not because their eyesight is better under low light conditions than that of their prey, but because with stealth they can probably approach their prey closer at night than during the day.

Dunno, I do know that that track was No. 4 in the Irish charts and 14 in the UK from an album that was a hit record for the band though.

And another thing. Lions don't live in the jungle. They'd never be able to catch anything with all the trees and vegetation in the way.

My contribution from one of my favourite bands. Deep Purple's "Black Night"
    Black night is not right
    I don't feel so bright
I don't care to sit tight
Maybe I'll find on the way down the line
That I'm free, free to be me
Black night is a long way from home

    I don't need a dark tree
    I don't want a rough sea
    I can't feel, I can't see
Maybe I'll find on the way down the line
That I'm free, free to be me
Black night is a long way from home

    Black night, black night
    I don't need black night
    I can't see dark light
Maybe I'll find on the way down the line
That I'm free, free to be me
Black night is a long way from home

What is that supposed to mean? Shocking.

    It means:
'I've got ham, but I'm not a hamster'
    according to Bill Bailey.

Ah come on, the sheer poetry of "on a hot summer night would you offer your throat to the wolf with the red roses ?"

    Lovely stuff!!!!
