Maybe FFG will clean up in the locals, but I certainly voted for our two local indos and a few others outside the party machines for once. Avoided those outside FFG I would never vote for even if they promised a prize for everyone in the audience.

    Keep local elections local.

The ballot papers were like rolls of toilet paper. Funny to see people trying to squeeze all three papers into the box.

I really hope Maria Walsh doesn't get the final seat. She was terrible in debates and looks completely out of her depth.

Sounds perfect for FG then . . she'll do and say exactly what she's told to by them

The irony will be totally lost on "the 17.4 million" brigade.

Perhaps they'll all end up living in France. I hear Sangatte is popular.

I've a feeling the last Red C polls haven't been telling the entire story, and I really wonder what effect the last debate for MNW has had on Saoirse McHugh. I'd imaging she's had a colossal boost in support since then.

you mean the one that resorted to attacking people personally when she wasn't able to debate or answer the questions ? Maybe some people are stupid enough to be fooled by that, but not as many as you think.

Yes, I do mean that one, and that those attacks put her in the lime light for the last week. The bookies dropped her odds from 50/1 to 4/1 for the last seat. I think you're overestimating the support for Peter Casey that is out there and I've a feeling that's what people wanted to see. Him being put in his place by someone who's new to the game.

McHugh has a serious chance IMO. She will be the most transfer friendly.

Actually it peaked my interest in Casey instead when I noticed some of the other candidates had to resort to that.

I would be delighted if she stole the 4th seat. Against gay rose of tralee, free cheese man and Z-list RTE celeb, a Green candidate with actual views would be a real relief.

I gave McHugh 2, after Ming. I hadn't planned to, in the booth I was thinking more of who I'd rather not see in.

Obviously I'd like Ming there, Carthy (though I'm not well disposed to SF cos history), McGuinness I can't stand but she'll be elected. So, FF running 2 candidates would in my mind be favourite for 4th, but I'd prefer McHugh there over the hysterical minister for Cheese, or the bumbling auld racist. I forgot about Walsh, I hope the electorate does too.

Interested to see if Andrews will do enough to get over the line. Will need FPV as he will only transfer from Durkan I'd say, and even then not hugely. They were third FPV last time but ended fifth. If Daly can stay within 2-3% of him, transfers could scrape it for her.

He went from 18% to 12% in the polls and all I've seen of him since was a notably bad performance on the debate. Don't think he is as safe as the bookies seem to think.

I actually gave Labour my #1 in South- Green seemed a bit unhinged

She's the only labour candidate I ever thought was up to it. Seems to be a real labour woman as opposed to the Aodáin Ó Ríordán style champagne socialist.

Someone put on the late late for the exit poll, I can't stand to look at Tubridy.

Some people seem to have a very short memory. The green party - Fianna Fáil coalition of 2007 was the government that destroyed Ireland economically for a generation.

GP looking to top the seat in Dublin and in the mix for Munster and Ulster NW according to Red C exit polls.

Yes, and yet some feckers are still voting FF.

Gave my #1 to Grace O'Sullivan (Greens) in the South. Really hope she gets a seat.

Exit poll suggests Dublin has gone it's own way entirely again. Fools game predicting that seat, which I did try!

Could be 3 Green seats on these numbers

I'm really astonished at the levels they seem to have hit. Fantastic for them.

Casey gone, Ming might be and three women most likely to get in.
