Think I'd rather go to prison in Norway than the US...
Depends on what you go in for.
Those Norwegian Centre Parc look-a-like prisons arent for everybody.
They outsource their non-Norwegian murderers to The Netherlands.

You think that is only in the US? The rest of the western world has prisons that more resemble knitting clubs than prisons?

The US is clearly more dangerous. And this was probably aided by insiders too.

What, no they don't? They rented a prison in the Netherlands because their own prisons are full. The have a strict policy of one prisoner per cell. The prisoners were as likely to be Norwegian as non-Norwegians. The Belgians have also rented a Dutch prison to solve their own overcrowding problems.

89 years old. Not a bad age to live to, especially if you live the type of life he has.

That was the plan. Article is from 03/2015, it only started in 09/2015
    Reality was slightly different.

For all i know contract hasnt been renewed either.
Rather funny was that at 1 point they volunteered to go to The netherlands. Norwegian prisons are apparently not that great.
We all know the one they got famous for of course. bastoy. The others are not that great.

Quite funny to rent out prisons. You would think there isnt enough crime in The Netherlands.
But then again, they do try everything to keep the crime figures low. Close police stations and only allow you to report a crime after making an appointment.

So lets say your car gets broken into (only about 5% of those get solved) and you need to make an appointment to report it.
Not worth the hassle. And no report = no crime = Hooray we can show lower crime figures. The Netherlands is becoming safer!

    So... end of rant.
    Off topic and all.

He killed a gang members ex girlfriend because he felt she knew too much about their business.

She didn't deserve the end she got. He'd kill people for ridiculous reasons all the time.

Even his own crew thought he was insane. The Kevin Weeks book 'Brutal' is a great insight into Bulger's sick world.

    Crime doesn't pay.
Going to get you fecked over in the end.

He didn't get arrested until he was in his 80s and died at 89. Regardless if he was murdered, he won.

He got to live 81 years of being an absolute psycho and getting whatever he wanted. Then 8 years of not. Crime paid for him.

They're saying some Greek guy with ties to the Boston Mafia killed him. Looks like his ratting on Italian organised crime finally came back to bite him.

Brutal killing apparently, he was savagely beaten and attempts were made to gouge out his eyes and remove his tongue.

Three men, including a Mafia hitman, have been charged in the killing of notorious Boston crime boss James “Whitey” Bulger in a West Virginia prison, the Justice Department said.

The charges against Fotios “Freddy” Geas, Paul J DeCologero and Sean McKinnon come nearly four years after Bulger’s killing, which raised questions about why the known “snitch” was placed in the general population instead of more protective housing.

The men were charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.

I’ve always been fascinated by this individual… one of the most violent, malevolent, evil psychopaths…. But he must have been an intelligent son of a gun to evade both the FBI and regular law enforcement for 17 years. It wasn’t as if they weren’t looking for him. They were very active in their search.

    What a gruesome end though….

just read that his girlfriend Catherine Grieg is now free and living a normal life again after being jailed for 8 years.
