No rain in bishopstown Cork City yet. Still a clear sky with some cloud it looks like but hard to tell. Windy though.

Well... I stuck my head out the door and you’re right, the noise had died down so thought the wind had. As you were.

    Yep
Rain has now come and the wind has substantially increased with it!

To be fair, if they're in a protected spot, they might not notice too much of it.

Anyway, things just got real here in Ballincollig. Sustained strong winds now, the bunting and flags on the Main Street are holding on for dar life in some of those gusts. Rain is coming down now as well. Wouldn't want to be outside now.

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

A burst of rain just started against the window! Pretty accurate from the radar on Met.ie anyway

Definitely picked up in South coastal Galway too. The wind is growling down the chimney and the cat has fled. Fiance driving home at the moment, hope he gets here soon. I'm a total worrier when it comes to bad weather.

This is different to Ali which was a stingjet storm that was very close to Red standard with gusts over 140kph

There wont be winds over 140kph with Callum but the windy weather will last for 12 hours so could create damage due to constant strong winds.

So basically it's not the strength of the wind with Callum it's the duration of them ?

Is the Shannon estuary enough shelter to keep Limerick on yellow as opposed to orange alert?
I would have thought the likes of Foynes and along that coast would take a hit.

Tbf, gusts of 125-130 are no joke either even if they're not quite red.

Both, plus rain dump coinciding with equinox high tides.
