My one prediction is a Torro Rosso Honda will overtake a McLaren Renault down into turn 1.
Who's got the GP2 engine now Fernando?

    This too shall pass.

    It's not a GP2 engine, it's a GP2 chassis in the McLaren :p

Hard to tell which engine is better, Renault or Honda. Will be interesting to see next year.

The FP1&2 times suggest another Merc procession. A shame.. love this track.

Yep, whatever development they have done since the summer break seems to have pulled them well clear of Ferrari, which is sad for the viewing excitement :(

I fear since Spa that the FIA has told Ferrari that the can't do something which has set them back. Scarbs was talking about how the MGU systems need to feed back into the battery but maybe Ferrari were feeding the motor directly instead getting direct boost. This is what the FAI may have stamped out.

Yep agreed. Something fishy is up since a second sensor was fit to the car.

I am hoping that the rain will make an appearance for quali, and catch some people out. Need to get something out of this weekend in terms of a HAM DNF and a VET win to keep me interested for the rest of the season.

Lewis is on another planet with that speed, barring any reliability issues he should waltz this one.

FP3: Not much happened. Lewis only set a fast lap and the fastest lap of the session in the last 10 minutes. He had not done any fast laps before that and the two Ferrari's were on top. There was a bit of drizzle and some strong winds but it was not until there was just over two minutes to go that Nico Hulkingberg crashed his car and the session was stopped with 2 minutes left.

Qualifying of to a good start. A spin by a Ferrari so far and a crash already with the session being red flagged.

Feckin alarm didn't go off and woke up in time to see a Sauber on a crane

God sake the McLaren is just so terrible. Both cars propping up the back of the grid...Behind the Williams now.

Hope that bit of rain keeps up for an interesting grid.

Come on Kimi! Would love to see a Ferrari on pole. Appreciate it’s unlikely based on the weekend so far.

That's not too bad still plenty to see. FP3 was not great

I set mine for Q3 and had set it for an hour after it had started so was not too bad but I thought about staying the bed longer as I thought it was a 4.45 start not a 3.45 so it worked out good.

Ye that would be great or even a Red Bull unfortunately it is looking like a Mercedes pole and front row lockout again by them.

Sorry to see Ricciardo looking to be knocked out. I’d like to see him up th front after a difficult few races.
He might not get the chance to see a podium next year sitting in a Renault!

    Wow nice Spin from Leclerc!

Jeez, tough going for Danny. The guy can't catch a break with reliability issues. And he's off to Renault next year.

Renault have a lot of work to do over the winter not just on there engine but there chassis and aero if they want to be up in the midfield more often next year and maybe get a pole or two. They are behind even the Honda engine cars now and Renault have been building these engines longer so should have more data and experience.

They did in Russia but they were just not fast enough to keep Hamilton and the Mercs behind unfortunately.

Classic Ferrari. If they get the opportunity to make a decision, be sure that they'll f*ck it up.

Toro Rosso had a good quali.

Is Hamilton double jobbing as Ferrari strategist or something

Wonder who made the call for Ferrari on the tyres. Was risky and both cars. Vettel a bit unlucky not to get a faster lap in (like Kimi did, although Vettel should have kept off kerb)

    Good day for Honda

I really think Norris will replace Vandoorne before the season is out. Vandoorne has given up.

Lewis is going to romp home. Ferrari need a management change for next year.

It was a terrible call. Did they even ask Vettel or Kimi I wonder or just look on there screen and decided a sure we will go inters straight away. Should be an easy race for Hamilton to win tomorrow now unless Max can do something about it.

Like the mix up of the start line up. Looks like a straight result for Hamilton ...but that's when teams get it wrong. Vettel has to go for it tomorrow from ninth which only helps our viewing. Dani Ric has no luck lately .

Great for Honda today , hopefully the can keep both cars in the points.

One can't be blamed for thinking that Red Bull must be sabotaging that car at this stage, Verstappen isn't having any such problems compared to Daniel Ricciardo.

Ricciardo should just go on a long holiday until he joins Renault

Ferrari just doing a Ferrari, operationally they're miles behind Mercedes.

Honda getting it right with the new upgrade, I bet they were wetting themselves laughing at Mclaren.

And shout out to Stroll for getting ahead of Hulk to make in to Q2. Good lap from him

His frustration was very clear today to see.

He'll need more than a long holiday after this, Verstappen will end up beating him this year but the stats won't show the reasons for it, reliability has been major for him, even his Monaco victory was beset by problems.

Is Max 3rd. He is a contender tomorrow, he knows from Russia that the Mercedes cannot follow him.a good start from him ...i know I'm reaching but trying to talk my self in to getting up to watch
