Fresh scones, warm from the oven, dripping with best butter and topped with home made blackberry jam.....

Used love picking blackas from the hedges when I was a kid, my parents made jam from them. Buckets of jam.

The crop has been huge and I was still eating jam from last year.. My fridge is full of jam....there is something very... fulfilling about diligently picking berries to sustain you in winter. Blackberries have a natural antibiotic too...

Coping ;) Just... coping! Thank you.. Which is all I need to do so that is fine... The cats make me happy...

Yesterday I was knitting abed etc as usual and talking to one of the smaller black cats who was curled up asleep half way down the bed...

I reached out a hand to stroke her , and realised it was not the cat, but a huge ball of black wool! ever feel a fool!

But laughter is a huge happy. And simple fresh made food is a part of life that matters...

Tea and toffypops now had a chicken casserole for dinner - anyone else think chicken casserole is a bit weird like a stew with chicken instead of beef .... weirds me out a bit

Chicken casserole is great! Mash on the side too. But Chicken Chasseur is even better with lots of cherry tomatoes!

Well what will you be having for dinner tonight?

I'm making a big batch of chilli. There'll be enough for 6 portions, so 4 will be frozen then 2 for the wife and myself served with greenbeans, rice and some garlic bread :)

Michael Cahill used to have this as a feature on his 2FM show in the 90s.

Or may I recommend magret de canard l'orange? There's a local butcher down here selling a pre-seasoned Barbary duck breast fillets for 7.99 a pair.

Thank you for the recommendation but I just have a real craving to eat a Boards.ie user with some kind of food in their name for my dinner. Won't cost me any money either!

A nice cold bottle of Budweiser from the fridge, awaiting delivery of a big greasy burger, chips and onion rings from the takeaway :D

Wow you guys are lucky. I'm just here at home eating ****ty African rice and beans. Would rather starve to and eat tasty pizza once a week than eat this crap everyday. Mother is a terrible cook.
