    I'm 45 and have never had a pet (except for a shared goldfish when I was a child. The two halves didn't survive).

    As a non-pet person, I'm obviously a deviant.

    I'm getting a wee cat in a couple of weeks, my first ever pet, and I will no doubt be tormenting the A&P forum with cute photos and stupid questions ... wouldn't inflict that crap on After Hours though! Not the place for it.

    Puppies imply the cold reality of death.

    The average litter is more than two. And dogs can have many litters. Ergo lots of death before reproduction or we have uncontrolled population growth followed by a hard crash.

    If there's more than six then it usually doesn't even begin well.

    Ah Christ lads. AH is what you make it. It doesn't have to be about gender wars, racism, fatty bashing and dole scrounging. Some very unhappy people out there.

    I just sifted through five pages and not one pic of a pet. Ye are such grumpy fcuks. Seriously.

    Grace, I think this is a lovely idea for a thread and there are some nice posters in After Hours that can appreciate it I'm sure.
