Weird about Carty, but it might bode well for him to play with Ireland, good news

Carty isnt in the just named Ireland squad.

Sexton Byrne Burns are the three 10s named

Bealham Dillane Heffernan and Aki are named.

Carty isn't in the Autumn nations cup squad so I assume he's available and Roux and Marmion refer to the players in the squad who will be made available to us

    Even better

+ Thornbury had a week-off so he can start again and Roux softly re-introduced, starting next week for example

Roux was named. He is only with Connacht this weekend from what I read.

But still, even if I said this about Roux
For Dragons I'd go F-S with

    1) Buck
    2) Delahunt
    3) McCoy
    4) Roux
    5) Thornbury
    6) Masterson
    7) Butler
    8) Big Papa
    9) Marms
    10) Carty
    11) Woot
    12) Daly
    13) Farrell
    14) Arnold
    15) Porchy

    16) Murphy
    17) McAll
    18) Aungier
    19) C.Daly
    20) Boyle
    21) Blade
    22) C.Fitz
    23) Sullivan

If Marmions' released it is to start IMO
Blade will take the spot back next week and further

The debate in my team is about McCoy and Aungier, Jack was a bit in troubles vs Embra, Dominic needs a chance to start IMO

    Carty dropped from the squad

Not great news and hope it doesn't interfere with his game. Good news for Connacht though having him for this busy period.

    I'm not sure

Is it SOB the back-row/lock, which would be great, but I don't recognize the red-hair
Or SOB 2.0 the centre who could be useful at some point too with Aki often not there
    Or even SOB 3.0 Sub-Academy?

    That’s SOB2 I’m pretty sure. Didn’t know there was an SOB3.

I don't agree. As realhorrowshow has said in the past international duties are more valuable on a range of fronts. Burns over carty is staggering. But it shows a mindset from a coach that is living the Joe dream

Ah poo poo. Was looking forward to this game with last weeks being cancelled too. Suppose it's something we can get used to.

Ah FFS, two weekends in a row.

Not complaining, right thing to do, but that is so frustrating like many things at the moment.

Only having one game in four weeks is a killer and could cripple us (knowing our luck with injuries) when the fixtures get rescheduled.

John Porch, Alex Wooton and Peter O’Sullivan.

    That is all.

Best of luck to Niyi and Pete. Delighted for them, hopefully Niyi gets a stretch without any injuries. He’s electric and a Connacht legend.

    Some Like It TOH
Niyi's release turns out to be a win-win for both he and Connacht.

I assume we only moved on Niyi to free up some money for the mega deal we're about to offer Jordan Conroy ;)

So good to see S.Fitz and Ben O'D'Donnell on the training pics!
We've got plenty of option for back-3, and it may be worthy with the non-stop schedule to come...

Again, which SOB is it? :P

between the two of them they have only 6 appearances out of a possible 26

they are bit part squad players for bristol, but good luck to them for next season and hopefully they get the chance to audition for further contracts following on from that.

Roux on the bench with Irish team,

Beirne is there to cover if Ryan/Hando has a late injury.

Do you think Dillane may be released?

Cormac Daly on our training pics

Should be at least n°19 this week-end...

We usually find out on the day of announcements and none of the usual suspects have tweeted anything that I can see. So I think there might not be many/any this next few weeks.

What could help is both games take place in Ireland, with the international game first. So a late release after thursday training is not unlikely I hope...

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,965 ✭✭✭connachta

"Friend will have to wait to see if any players will be released back to him after Ireland meet Wales on Friday.

Kieran Marmion was not in the Ireland 23 named yesterday and his return west would be timely as scrum-half Caolin Blade is out of Saturday’s tie with a hamstring issue sustained in a competitive training ground hit-out during their run without a fixture.

If Marmion remains with Dave Heffernan, Quinn Roux and Finlay Bealham in Ireland camp then Stephen Kerins will step in to partner Jack Carty."

So as I read it, a decent chance to have Dillane too !
