    ........ I may even consider 175lbs. .........

I got down to that for a day as it meant I'd lost 25% of my bodyweight. didn't suit me though. At 82kg / 181lbs I was able to BP 125kg so was grand but I still felt a tad chilly most of the time.

    Do either of you drink?

Alcohol ruins my caloric intake, I've all but cut it out for the last 2 months now

Was never a big drinker but haven’t had a drink in 4 months now. Was diagnosed with Fatty liver and alcohol is not recommended, though personally I just feel it’s not worth the calories

    Hey all,

I was diagnosed Type 2 Diabetes in spring during the lockdown, along with one or two other complications. I enlisted a dietitian which turned out to be a good move.
Started June 20th at 20 st 10 lbs
    Current weight 18st 4lbs
Average over 2lbs per week with a large bias to the early weeks. Currently struggling to maintain a lb per week loss.
Have been slipping a little lately around snacks and stuff so need to reset quickly.
I've found veg curries a life saver. Carbs are a huge no no for me, I love the bloody stuff. Any cake, biscuit, bread, potatoes and you couldn't beat me out of it.
I find the times I indulge they drive the weight loss into rapid reverse.
Going to calorie count for a few weeks now and see how that goes.
This thread has been great reading, I've been lurking a lot, a few posters results have me dipping a toe into intermittant fasting. 16 hours is easy, my only 24 hour was hard, but I will go again this week.

Keep it up folks. Even just reading this thread is a help on the motivating front.

    Week 1 Aug 20th 2020 : 246lbs

    Week 5 Sept 21st 2020 : 229lbs - 17
    Week 6 Sept 28th 2020 : 231lbs -15

Delighted to get back on track after the holiday hiccup last week, times before now I would have gotten disheartened by an increase and probably given up on the diet altogether, but not this time.

In general it was a very good week, even thou I'm averaging about 1500 cals a days, I had enough energy midweek to play 3 ball nights back to back, previously my body would be aching after 1 night!
We did get a ramen Friday night although the calories are not so bad in this (about 700 for a dish and rice) and I kept half for lunch the next day.
I got a 40 minute resistance work out in on Friday after this too, I'll add this to the bottom for anyone looking for a beginner workout at home that will target most of your muscles, you will need some dumbbells thou.

Saturday I cut myself some slack and didn't restrict calories, I just made sure it was mainly good whole food, finished the day about 2500 cals in.
Sunday I wasn't really hungry at all so went back to 1500 or so, got a 2nd work out in aswel.

230lbs was a 1st big goal of mine, 210lbs is my next real milestone, original target was Xmas, but I'm hoping to get there a little sooner now.

    Sunday Oct 4th
    squat + overhead press 10kg
    bench 20kg
    plank 30s
    table top 15
push ups x 10 (from knees, if not able)
    rows 10kg

    repeat x 4

Yeah.....we'll see how it goes. 175 may not work for me......and I may not even have the motivation to get there anyway!

That's gas re feeling chilly - I'm fecking frozen half the time now without my protective coat of blubber! Was the very first 'symptom' I noticed way back in March.

had a bump last week but I had to change the scales battery this morning so wondering if that caused a bad read or something

either way I'm happy with that progress and I'm collecting a bike today so will be doing proper excercise every day rather than my current 2 gym sessions a week.

    this one

got it on B2W so I'm happy with it, nothing too fancy. Cycled home from the shop with my kid so the school run each morning in the car will now become the school cycle (working from home is allowing this) and he's very excited about that.

I live not far from the phoenix park, royal canal and a few other amenities that are good for cycling too - my plan is to cycle everywhere I'd normally have driven locally (trip to the off licence, small top up shopping etc) and then slowly build up to more chunky distances

Dropping about 2lbs per week the past few weeks on average, which I'm delighted with, I know the 1st few weeks were mainly water, but still working hard in the diet and exercise, and it's paying off!

Nothing major to report in the last week, plenty meal prep and home cooking.

I've fallen of the wagon lately but thankfully haven't put on too much because I fast. I typically do between 16 - 18 hour fasts but if I want to go longer I'll use MCT oil to get me through. If I feel hungry I'll just add 15ml into black coffee and hunger pangs are gone. It has zero impact on sugar levels.

It's so great to see new people trying IF :) I'm sure it's not for everybody, but I love the feeling it gives me. I try to do 2-3x 16-hour fasts per week, and then a general rule of not eating 2 hours before and after sleeping which approximates to a minimum 12-hour fast every single day. Keep us posted on your progress :)

If I can maintain 2lbs lose a week for another month or 2 I'll be delighted, not a great week though in comparisons to last. Soccer has all been cancelled, and we purchased a house which is great but been moving stuff all weekend so we got takeaways Friday and Sunday, but I kept half for lunch the next day for both.

    .

Thats very impressive Padraig. Congrats to you. I have some questions if you dont mind. Sorry I may have asked you before

    1.What height are you

    2. Did you measure your waist measurement as you lost weight, people confuse their waist measurement with jeans size. Your waist measurement is right around your belly button in a relaxed state . Mine was 51 inches at 290lbs but my Jeans was 42, at 231lbs my waist was 41 inches and my jeans was 36

    3. On average how many calories do you think you ate daily during your cut down?

    4. Do you think you have much more to lose, whats your end game weight goal?

Posting here for a bit of accountability. I managed to get down to 95kg during the first lockdown so am hoping to get back closer to that during this 6 week period.

    Week 1: 21/10/2020 - 102kg

I'm going to be starting a cut down tomorrow , I'm very heavy at around 295lbs which is 21 stone. Going to track in lbs week to week. My plan will be intermittent fasting , I'm basically going to do OMAD (One Meal a Day ) , 6 days a weeks this is going to be a very healthy meal on the 7th day I'm going to have a cheat night where I can have a take away and some dessert and maybe a glass of wine or 2, this is not going to be a cheat day because too much damage can be done if you have the whole day to overeat. Because the gyms are closed I'm not going to be lifting weights, Ill get back to that when they reopen but for now my only exercise will be walking , 10k steps daily is the goal

I'm in a fairly similar position (weight and approach), that'll work and weight will still fall off with no excercise, but just make sure you track your cheat day too, shag all point killing yourself at 1000 cals a day for 6 days to then bollocks it totally with 15k on Sunday (dramatic round numbers for easiness).

oh yeah I was just using 15k as a nice round and stupidly big number, but I'd still try and track it if you can. A Domino's meal deal which I could (and have) put away is 7/8k by a rough count. If your daily maintenance is 2.5k you'd need to be under 1.5k for your other 6 days to be losing weight.

    1. 5'10".

    2. Last time I measured my 'real' waist I think it was 50" - hadn't done it in a while though before hitting my peak so presume it was bigger. Measured a few weeks ago and was 40" so 10" down but I do think it's dropped more in the last few weeks. Trousers have gone from 44/46 to 34/36.

    3. I don't measure calories, but on my fasting days it's zero! I eat plenty when I am eating though, and simply far too much crap at weekends - finding it very hard to keep that under control.

    4. Main goal is to get under 200lbs (I'm close!) but would like to drop further to 185 or possibly even 175 - I do think I'll struggle doing that though especially as even though there's quite a bit of abdominal flab, I do think I'm looking pretty damn good these days! Am under no illusions though that whenever I switch to maintenance it'll likely be tough to avoid going back up.

While 15k may be an exaggeration, it's surprisingly easy to fire in 5/6000 calories, even if just starting in the evening! Lash of drink, big meal / takeaway, snacking on high fat / carb snacks into the early hours.....easily done! Hell, choose the wrong takeaway and you could be looking at 3000+ calories there alone!
