Rory is like the Wayne Rooney of golf, peaked early. Great to see Lowry going well and looking confident.

What exactly happened to Rory on the first?

A damn shame, loads of good golf and we're talking about a poor guy having a meltdown in front of his peers, home crowd and worldwide TV, I feel for him right now

    So do I.
From a sporting perspective, it has to be the worst nightmare coming true.

LOL, Rory is replicating how I started in the Boards outing in Portmarnock, not a pretty place, hope he recovers better than I did

Mcilroy has turned into the golfer that loves playing in good weather bombing the driver and getting loads of birdies .
To me he is lacking the 15th club in the bag .
    That's the " mental club" .
Some players are great at turning a bad day on the course into a level par round ....Rory goes chasing and in a lot of cases turns a bad round into an awful round.

sh!t - when was that? I only live down the road. Granted - given the state of my game at the moment - probably better off.

    I blame the kids.

Shane nice and steady, course looks benign and not playing 'that' difficult

Feel for Rory. If he was to shoot an 80+ today that could do a lot of damage for his future in the game. As in he'll be known as a choker on the biggest of occasions. Not easy to erase these things from your mind.

No he wont. He'll be known as a 4 time major winner which is a legacy most pro's can only dream of.

If he retired tomorrow he'd still be one of the greatest golfers ever and the greatest ever golfer that's ever come from the island of Ireland.

He's not exactly unknown for meltdowns

however he's not a choker - he's a record most golfers only dream of. When was the last time he was out of the top 10 in the world?
