It should be as simple as a Revenue certificate from the taxman stating the business turn over and that the young farmer is operating the business and paying the tax

Who on earth decided to make it more difficult than that ?
Nothing could give a more true reflection of who owns and runs the business than the revenue commissioners
There should be a section on Ros and email it in

    Honestly this country sometimes

If that was the case the young farmer would never be working on the farm, This scheme is abused bad enough as it is, a lot are just on paper already in the hope of beating the odds and not being inspected

But my point is,someone doing it just on paper couldn’t produce a Revenue cert showing the farm turnover going in to Revenue in their name

There was a chat on here a few weeks ago about a chiropractic/hands healer type fella in who does a lot of work with babies. I've gone back there and can't find the chat. He had some great reviews on his Facebook. What was his name? Thanks

Anyone got a ballpark figure of average price per acre for middling unimproved land atm?

  • Registered Users Posts: 527 ✭✭✭MeTheMan

Depends on part of the country? Or avg for the whole country?

    Avg whole country ...

  • Registered Users Posts: 527 ✭✭✭MeTheMan

Avg of the whole country is 9000. If it's marginal I'd be guessing around the 7000 mark.

That wasn’t a bad price, as those smaller lots are normally quite dear

I thought it would have gone more tbh. A bit of road frontage at both ends.

Not to make people paranoid but watch your property during these windy, wet, noisy, dark evenings.

I heard tell of a burglary that occurred yesterday evening with the homeowner sitting watching television in the living room and burglars breaking in through the bedroom window and ransacking the bedroom. The homeowner never heard a thing and for luck the burglars limited it to the bedroom.

I wish them luck finding anything valuable in my bedroom. They might feel sorry for me & leave me a few things instead :D

It's jewellery and money they're mostly after.

I suppose they'd have to find Leitrim first? ;)

It's an insult to stay on topic around here.

I actually wouldn't be a million miles from Bree myself here.

Bree was the name of the horse in that Narnia book.
I'm fantastic at staying on topic as you can see :D

Twitter has me ruined today. Am knackered walking around all the GLAS options!
